at the time calzaghe pulled out against johnson, johnson was just a bum opponent which would see calzaghe move to 175. you think he ducked him really? johnson would give calzaghe as much trouble as manfredo

omg no!
not a calzaghe fan, but joe would make glen look old and slow.....oh wait...he is old and slow
Actually, he only becomes old and slow once Joe beats him.
oh my word.
You;re actually bring up Lacy, Brewer, Mitchell, Reid, Woodhall and a shot to bits Eubank?
Really, people dont need to critisize Joe, his fans expose him more than anyone else
I ask again Who was he supposed to fight?
Look at the first page i have Joe outside the top 100 ATG, but don't give me this BS about him only fighting bums, how many fighters have 9 wins vs orld champ on thier resumes?
And Eubank was about as shot as Bhop is, watch the two fights with Thompson and tell me he's shot. he was rtobbed in eth first fight and was winning the second handily on all cards when he got a freak injury.
What the fcuk are you dribbling on about fool.
Eubank - WBO MW, WBO SMW
Brewer - IBF SMW
Mitchell - WBA SMW
Reid - WBC SMW
Woodhall - WBC SMW
Lacy - IBF SMW
Kessler - WBA/WBC SMW
Hopkins - I'm sure you don't need me to list BHops titles
RJJ - likewise RJJ's.
Who the fcuk else is he supposed have fought?
Johnson never won a SMW title so those at least achieved SOMETHING at the weight how shite much johnson be if he couldn't even win a title whane "Everyone" had one.
Idiot.

Magazine tittles usually don't count as former champions also don't count. Besides, everyone is a world champion nowadays. What the fcuk are you dribbling on about fool.

He fought 9 World champions and given that two of the belts where held by ottke who wouldn't fight outside Germany where no one would have beaten him outside a KO (and no matter what you say about Ottke there was nothing wrong with his chin)
Eubank
Brewer
Mitchell
Reid
Woodhall
Lacy
Kessler
Hopkins
RJJ
throw in 7-8 up and comers with less than 3 losses on there records billed at the next big thing, the fact is the only three major fighters Calzaghe didn't fight are Johnson, Ottke and Echols.
Johnson Vs Calzaghe is much discussed, Echols pulled out through injury and then lost to Mundine and Ottke wasn't interested.
Magazine tittles usually don't count as former champions also don't count. Besides, everyone is a world champion nowadays.
Just like Joe lost to Hopkins?
And I would never call Eubank the greatest. He was a good fighter, who would lose to the likes of Toney and Jones.
well he did lose to hopkins according to almost everyone ringside and according to knowledgeable boxing fans who score fights based on the rules. clean punching, defnse, etc...you know hit and not be hit unlike calzaghe's don't hit and get hit strategy.
and you claimed someone with 12 losses is a bum and eubank in reality should have about 12 losses if judging was fair.
Sorry, I meant ignorant fool.
Gerrald was a great man and a credit to the human race. What would the world be without him?
The man is revered just because he wore a pair of boxing gloves. He was an animal.
What? Stating that I don't think Joe would lose to a guy who has 12 defeats, and who has been outclassed by lesser opposition, is a flawed argument? I also stated that Joe usually performs well against come forward/pressure fighters, and his combo's and boxing skills would leave Johnson confused.
As for Gerald, I couldn't give a damn about that guy. I only care for the dogs he brutally tortured.
you also realize glen johnson is called the "road warrior" for a reason. he had to go to his opponents hometurf and anything can happen when a fight goes to decision. if calzaghe had to travel to his opponents hometown he could easily lose a somewhat close fight whether he deserved to or not. calzaghe wouldn't be getting any gift ko's in his opponents hometown either.
yea you were wrong the first time so why say it again? which come forward fighter did he perform well against? lacy? he sucks. that guy couldn't put 2 punches together to save his life.
have you not followed his career? his whole "title" reign is a joke and everyone who has followed boxing knows this. he lost basically every other fight but was saved by the judges cause he generated huge ratings for british tv and to save his undefeated record. obviously he already has 5 losses but he lost to schommer, amaral costa, ray close twice, nigel benn 2, watson 1, sherry, and thorton and malinga could have easily been losses. obv you would have to watch these fights to know this. you will probably reply with "he won all those fights easily! hes da greatest!" but you will just be laughed at.

Because it's utterly flawed thinking, regardless of whether Joe would win or not.
But then, you're the 10,000,000th arrival to the whiny, holier-than-thou 'Gerald McClellan was mean to dogs and I somehow feel the deep, burning need to be yet the latest imbecile to superfluously state this in a boxing thread' hoedown, so I shouldn't be surprised.
