Yeah that is good news, Boxing in Mexico was really on the ropes. Goes to show that putting fights on network television brings it back to the mainstream. If boxing in Mexico was on the ropes then Boxing is dead as a fuking doornail in the U.S.

You are right the Pacquiao .- Marquez fight, but i remember his fight with Juarez was on HBO Plus, well it was a long time ago and they always show juarez on hbo plus. And Televisa did that, that's true, but they will be fools if they pull that stunt again. Televisa announced it when they show las luchas and Mayweather appeared. no, in fact the juarez fight wasnt on HBO, it was on Showtime(it was gonna be on HBO but got canned when JMM hurt his hand, the rescheduled on SHO)......and Televisa showed it in Mexico........ If they do show the fight, maybe they;ll show it a day later,because i doubt Golden Boy wants to piss HBO off.....

We know almost all the fights, whether they are boxing mega events or small cards are shown in Mexico on National TV by 3 different TV Stations, but JMM hasn't fought on National TV since his fight with Marco Antonio Barrera. His last 3 fights have been on HBO Plus, really odd stuff, since the only important Boxing fights that weren't show on National TV were JMM last 3 fights, doing a comparative, Kelly Pavlik last 5 fights were shown in Mexico on National TV. But Oscar just announced that the Biggest Mega Fight of this year will be on Televisa (NATIONAL TV) in Mexico, Schaefer was in Mexico and sealed the deal! :beerchug: Televisa since yesterday has began promoting the fight, and it seems that they will be promoting it like crazy. But TV Azteca just responded to Televisa, now promoting Pacquiao vs Cotto and they will promote like crazy too, because it's their Mega Event. Will this get high ratings in mexico? Of course it gets good ratings. If boxing didn't get great raitings in Mexico, then the 3 Free TV Stations that show boxing, wouldn't show it all the saturdays. After Soccer, boxing is Numero 1.

i thought televisa had a deal with ufc to show there fights in mexico?Isn't there a ufc event on the same day as floyd/marquez. They may showed that after the boxing, at 1am maybe. Because Boxing will always be a priority for the TV Channels in Mexico, unlike UFC. The last and first UFC that was shown on Televisa, they put first the Saul "Canelo" Alvarez fight on primetime and after that, they put their ufc but they lost on ratings with TV Azteca Boxeo Clasico (that showed Castillo vs Corrales I and MAB vs Morales III)
