What a horrible panel of judges. the first scorecard of 115-113 for diaz i can see but 116-112 for diaz seems to favor him and the 118-110 is a flat out attempt to rob paulie.
I dare ONE PERSON on this forum to show me how they had diaz winning 118-110 or even anything higher than 115-113 (at the most) and PROVE IT to me with a reasonable arguement because i cant see it happening.
Forget opinions though. lets look at the FACTS of the fight:
Most punches thrown - Paulie
Most punches landed - Paulie
Highest connect percentage - Diaz
Huge cut(s) on face - Diaz
Those simple facts right there should give you a pretty good idea as to who won. paulie used and landed more punches than diaz. all diaz did was connect his at a higher percentage.
Diaz had a huge cut on his eye.
So how do you throw and land more punches than your opponent but end up losing 115-113, 116-112, and 118-110???
How is this possible? im not saying it never happens (ie knockout/downs to erase what happened throughout the fight) but this certainly wasnt the case.
Paulie put on a great performance. jabbed diaz to death, didnt seem afraid to stop, land his combo(s), and get back outside. he outboxed diaz for the better part of the fight and thats why i have paulie winning 115-113.
So the thought he lost a wide UD is really saddening for the sport. it shows that homecooking can get you by and i think the fans of the sport see that.
Especially since in another thread paulie had 140-something votes from members here believing he won while there were MUCH MUCH MUCH fewer votes from members who believed diaz won.
It speaks for itself.
Something needs to be done to fix this because i think the scoring was horrible to say the least.
Imo Malignaggi's punches were so... whast the word im looking for, well lets just say Max Kellerman had to let the audience know punches were landed on juan diaz while the punches landed by juan diaz needed no commentary bceause of hoe Malignaggi would react each time he was hit.
So you counted all the punches Paulie whipped his head back to avoid? :lol1:
Malinaggi took Diaz out of his game he didnt get to work much in close like he usually does. Paulie was landing more and throwing more.
how is that? i dont get it.
Diaz is always talked about in the boxing world as a "volume puncher" and "brawler" if thats the case why is the paulie attempted (AND LANDED) MORE (yes MORE) punches than the "volume puncher"????
and the fact is punches needed to be explained to the fans watching on tv because the fans of diaz (ie. damn near everyone in the building) would scream and cheer very loudly to punches that diaz missed with or that paulie blocked as if they landed. Giving the APPEARANCE than diaz was just taking it to him all 12 rounds when that clearly wasnt the case.
rewatch the fight and THEN come back and post.
the fight wasnt so clearly cut for diaz as you think it is.
Co-sign
Peace.
him being italian doesnt have anything to do with it, too bad you morons cant support your own fighters or else he would of had the fight made in vegas with neutral judges.
i was joking a bit about him being italian. i said that in the first page of the thread that i just posted it to get a couple extra views in my thread so my opinion would be heard but bet your ass if the fight took place closer to me i would have supported my fellow italian by going to the fight with a big huge italian flag.
however the fight took place in texas and i live in the SF bay area of cali. SOOOOO it wasnt close enough for me to go.

You mean Diaz’s punches needed no commentary because the audience cheered even if Diaz blocked a punch. I’m not saying Paulie didn’t connect with punches that would stop an opponent dead in his tracks, fact is, he was landing and even did so at a hire punch output then the volume puncher himself Juan Diaz. Paulie got a raw deal and he called it before the fight I just hope an immediate rematch would be implemented to clear up this Texas mishap.
Peace.
when Buffer read 118-110, i thought to myself 'damn, paulie didnt whoop diaz THAT bad....then the announcement of the winner came and i just shook my head...even my girl, who was hating on paulie, thought he won
:haha:
Thats what I was thinking then I said uh oh they wouldnt score even worse on spite!? What a petty dick Van Hoy is.

we see these insanely biased cards from time to time and yet no one does anything about it.
I think this is unfair and some new type of rule needs to be put into place allowing fighters to appeal the decision and have a separate panel of judges review the fight.
i usually hesitate to say robbery in such closely contested fights but there isnt another word to describe what happened in texas last night. Paulie deserved the win i thought and not only did he not win but the scorecards suggest diaz not only just won but did it in such a fashion that paulie got embarrased for 12 rounds and that certainly wasnt the case.
infact when hearing the scorecards being read and it became clear it was a UD instead of a SD i kind of figured paulie was about to get screwed. i thought pulling out a SD would be hard enough so when buffer never paused to announce what card is in favor of who i had a good feeling diaz was going to get the UD.
sad. just sad.
this fight is going to bother me for awhile i can tell. i hope paulie and his team take all actions possible in an attempt to right the wrong.
maybe get it ruling changed or something. a NC or a rematch. something. but leaving this as a loss for paulie seems unfair. especially when he put on such a good showing, one of his best since the first ndou fight.
I feel Paulie won 115-113 an felt Ledermans card was precise..I agreed with him..but I'm gonna watch it again in a bit..and score it myself..
but what the hell does the decision got anything to do with Malignaggi being Italian?!..:ugh:
haha it made you come into this thread didnt it? haha.
sometimes when you have a million thread about the same thing you have to put an interesting title to get people to pay attention to what you have to say.
and im glad you're all coming into my thread ;)

It was a close fight that could of gone either way, but yeah dem cards was rediculous. I wouldnt even be suprised if the judges got mad a paulie for mouthing off that they scored the fight before the fight even happened.
im thinking the same thing. for a card to come out 118-110 you have to wonder if they watched the fight we were all watching or if they had already decided that was going to be the score before the opening bell rang.
