I just want to know? I mean I really can understand how some of you might not like Cotto's fans, but it just feels like yall are hating mad hard on him. Or is it that some of you don't like Boricuas?
I understand when some of you mention the crying, but look at the topics here in NSB most of them are either about peepz crying, talking trash about a particular boxer, or just defaming these warriors that fight for our pleasure.
When I was stateside, I saw how everyone got along with Boricuas. How come in here it seems like yall are hating? Or am I just reading some of yall wrong, and it is because you don't like Cotto?
I mean I have seen some posts where peepz diss Cotto, Tito, Calderon...etc...basically every Puerto Rican fighter!!!
Anywayz I know some peepz will come in here talking sh!t, but for those of you who know how to be serious...what is it??? Cotto, Boricuas or the majority of the fans that rep Cotto on NSB?
It's the same hate on both sides. People take it too far and make it personal, and to make matters worst, they make it racial. I just don't get it. One thing to call each other names like a$$holes or what not, but to take it to the extreme and make racist comments is beyond stupidiy. Both are great fighters with great pride from their people and themselves. And both countries are going to back up their local hero no matter what the outcome is because both countries have great fans and great people.
Exellant, mature, unbiased post! Kudos! I owe you a green k...all out! Lol.
It's either you're blind or just ignoring a fact...
Cotto is one of the best fighter today, boxing fans really like cotto as a boxer and as a person. He has a down to earth persona and seldom throws trash talk to his opponents. The reason fans put Cotto down is because of nuthuggers reactions when somebody criticizes him. We find it funny with your kid like demeanor responses each time we read your posts.
True story...
This one tells the truth...
green k for you
I've only been here for like 2 years and when I see Cotto, I usually buy his fights at the house. Maybe one day I should hit a bar when he fights. Can't really give you an accurate answer.
Coo...:boxing::boxing::boxing:
Nobody dissing Cotto even pac fans admitted that the bout is a 50/50 chance for both fighters. It's just the responses from some nuthuggers who tends to cry, bitch, and moan each time they see Cotto being criticise. Some fans exploits those child-like responses and make fun out of it. Nothing personal or no hatred at all.
Agreed...there's some in every crowd re: other fighters too. Good post.
Somaya Reece :).
I know there is some cool Ricans on here.
Coo...
How is Cotto's popularity there in Houston? I think I saw a few Boricuas when I went down there. I chilled with some in Dallas and San Antonio. I also went to this place called Atlanta, TX...that sh!t was crazy.
Don't tell that to Chicanita!
He is the.....

Good post! I mean I really haven't met one Pinoy that I didn't get along with. Very humble peepz. Every race has there bad apples though, but I am glad that two great countries will battle it out (the right way...in the ring) in Nov. May the best boxer win.

Dude, if Cotto will wait until the 8th round to land his hard punches it might be to late for him. IMO
If Cotto chooses to get tentative with his punches on the early rounds, Pacquiao for sure will exploit the situation and take the advantage and try to land power punches to Cotto's face.
I'm predicting that both fighters will try to dictate the tempo of the fight at the early rounds to shape-up their game plan to a T.
Unlike many peepz on here I really don't think Cotto has stamina problems...problems with fighters who are bigger yes! With that said, Cotto is the type of fighter to feel his opponent out first and then take them out. I do understand your point too.
I really don't like the idea of Cotto asserting his dominance too early...I mean that is what it seemed like Hatton wanted to do. I think Cotto should just feel him out, and use his jab in the early rounds. Later, around the 8th, he can start landing hard punches to Pac's body. I know one thing Cotto needs to neutralize Pac's speed.

To do that, he needs to learn to hold. He's got an excellent defence, so I don't see why he shouldn't take some risks and walk through Pac's shots to get on the inside. Once there, unlooooooaaaaaaad with those bodyshots!
Holding is something Cotto won't do!!! It would be a good tactic though.
your location says puerto rico, u are a member of the cotto cartel, u have a sig pic of miguel cotto as tony montana, u constantly make threads about cotto equals.....

Because I have a pic of him I'm a nuthugger? Also if you knew me you would have known that the Cotto = threads were comebacks for all the other similar threads. I mean I even had peepz PM'ing me saying they knew what I was doing. Anywayz that is your opinion.

Well, it's either that or let Pac run and throw an occasional jab/flurry from afar like Jennings did. I know there's such a thing as patience, and it was his first outing since Margs, but I thought Cotto looked really gunshy in that Jennings fight - in a bad way. Something didn't look right. We saw shades of it in the Clottey fight, too. Against Pac, who likes grabbing the opening rounds, that just will not work.

Or, ideally, stop him before the 8th. :lol1: Pac's stamina is something amazing, so for Cotto to go into the fight already accepting it to go the distance isn't the best idea. A stoppage is what he needs to be looking for from the opening bell. He ain't winning a decision.

Wait a minute.
Cotto fought: Judah, Quintana, Margarito, Mosley and Clottey. That is as close to a who's who of the welterweight division.
Tough to question Migs' competitive nature.
I agree! He has definitely been very competitive...I guess what I meant to say is that he needs to have a dominant performance over tough competition to shut some peepz up.
I see no reason as to why he won't step it up in the biggest fight of his life (post-Margarito). Surely even he knows what he did wrong in the Clottey fight, and that the same tactics absolutely will not work against a highly active and prime Pacquiao. He has the benefit of video and prior knowledge about his opponent, so he'd better use it to the fullest extent.
The main thing he needs to is to quickly assert dominance and make clear his (apparent) power advantage over Pac, so that the little blown up SFW doesn't get confident and start unloading crafty shots on him at will. The moment Cotto starts going backwards and yielding to any pressure by Pac, it's all over - Margs had his number in that regard, and so did Clottey.
Also, who's training him this time? Same guy as the previous fight?

if u dont hug his nuts so much it wont hurt so much that some person who doesnt personally know u or cotto say something bad about him in one internet boxing website.
When do you see me hugging his nuts? This actually might be your first time replying to one of my threads, but it is what it is. You can have your opinion too. I'm just writing about what I see on here.
Cotto does need to step it up a bit, and really show peepz he can handle tough competition.

I know, man. At first I was on the fence and didn't want to take sides because of the catchweight thing, and that I had never supported either man before. Then I went with Pac only because I like his style. But now, the more I watch Cotto I'm realising how cool he is, and that he's got a supporter in me.
I still find his style a bit fruity (especially when he gets on his bike and doesn't throw much), but he's a seriously cool dude and doesn't have to chat shit about anyone. Nor does he need any special treatment by everyone like Pac does. He just keeps quiet and gets in that ring to do his job. He hasn't got a great chance of winning... but he has a very good chance nonetheless.
Besides the fruity thing I agree with everything said! I do agree though Cotto does need to step it up a bit, and really show peepz he can handle tough competition.
