I noticed that the two brothers are probably the fighters who make quit more fighters than anybody. Why ?
I think a Heavyweight fight should finish with a real KO like Wlad vs Austin, not with a big man quitting on his stool like Sam Peter did.
I mean in the heavyweight division, everybody has a puncher's chance. Why do guy would quit because they get beaten up with a left jab/ right cross for 8 rounds. Lucky punches can always happen. You can at least show some heart and fight til the end.
The tendancy Heavyweights guys have this day is not what i'm looking for in Boxing, i guess it's the same for other fight fans.
I can accept justified quitting like DLH- Pacquiao but what Sam Peter or other did is lack of heart.
Great post, I love watch the way Wlad tactically breaks down opponents. Quick ko's after a long fight build up are disappointing to me, I like a long awaited fight that I'm looking forward to, to go at least 5 so I get a good look at a fighter.
Exactly. As long as he stops them at some point, and at his pace, it gives the fans who paid such big money a good night of boxing. And even when he goes the distance it can be awesome - anyone just needs to look at the Wlad-Peter fight to see a good little HW war.
Then you have Haye, who KO'ed Enzo Mac so fast that everyone - both at the arena and at home - was left pissed off at not having a longer fight! :laff2: Can't please everyone.
Its because they are absolutely Terrible finishers, Especially Wladimir.
He will hurt a fighter sometimes 2 or 3 times in the same round, and will almost never follow it up. And not to mention he hardly has a hook or uppercut in his arsenal.
So his opponents will sometimes get creamed for 4 or 5 or 6 consecutive rounds, getting hurt in each but never getting knocked out, so they will quit because its hopeless and painful lol
That's what I was going to type and you beat me to it.
Wouldn't be so many folks quitting if the Klits would step up and go for the kill early, but especially Wlad is hesitant to do so.
Well its because they dont often realise how good the Klits are until they get in the ring with them, They all think they can get behind the typical Klits jab but its easier said than done, So as soon as they get in there with their fat plodding self they would soon realise that they're facing a different kind of HW who are fit and can actually fight well.
With Wlad, he seems to have refined a very systematic method of fighting since hooking up with Steward. There's no longer a frantic, puffed-out push to KO his man as quickly as possible. Why should he expend the energy when tens of thousands of fans have come to see him fight? Besides, prior to Brewster, he could really let his hands go (see Puritty and Mercer) and look like a menacing bastard when doing so.
I mean, there's the Tyson type of scary which is vicious and animalistic with a raging scowl... and then you have the Wlad type of scary, which is a huge Eastern European machine with a cold expression, just laying into you with deadly accurate shots and not even finishing it when you'd expect him to! That's just scary shit right there.
At least with Tyson, you knew from the off that he was coming to tear you to shreds - he'd say a bunch of childish, homoerotic crap during the press conferences and then show up to the ring full of rage. Wlad, on the other hand, says the bare minimum during the pre-fight, and then comes to pick you apart in the ring like a surgeon without an anaesthetic. Doctor Steelhammer ain't gonna finish operating on you until he says so!
So yeah. Like Lennox, he's patient in that ring. He's never distracted or in any rush to be anywhere else (i.e. Tyson who wanted to go and have more facial tattoos instead of fighting Lennox), and I would imagine takes pleasure in watching his training for the fight come together in form of seeing his opponents' faces turn into Dominos Pizza. It's a cold, calculated beatdown from beginning to end. I know everyone rags on it, but I fucking love watching that shit!
WAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRR Wladimir!
because quiting is better then getting knocked hell out, everyone wnats to see a spectacular knockout and you dont wanna be the guy getting knocked out so they quit. 8-9 rds of punishment hurts, its easy for you to say you never been beaten like most of these guys
:stupid: Worst post ever.
Wlad and Vitali have the highest KO ratios of any heavyweight champions in boxing history.
Compare them as finishers to Larry Holmes, Muhammed Ali, and even Lennox Lewis.
Wlad might be the BEST finisher in heavyweight boxing history. He's knocked out about 15 opponents who had never been stopped before (Chagaev, Brock, Thompson, Shultz, Barrett, etc).
LOL
First of all, it takes Wlad almost ALWAYS 8 or more rounds to knock a guy out. Unless the guy is totally overmatched.
If he is such a great finisher, explain how he could have Chagaev hurt and down in round 2, and stumbling around the ring for the next few rounds, but not get the stoppage until what, the 9th round?
Its pathetic.
Klitschko is one of the WORST finishers in boxing today. HE gets a TON of stoppages beause he is a HUGE puncher, and a very dominant fighter. But a fighter with Wlads physical dimensions and ability should have made MUCH shorter work of all his most recent opponents.
And it comes down to him not wanting to take ANY risks, and NEVER picking up the pace EVER
Its one thing to take a beating. Its another to take a beating and not be able to accomplish anything positive on the offesnsive. The latter is what the opponents of the brothers are often faced with.

Because there reaches a point with today's heavyweights against the Klitschko brothers where that fighter realizes the fight sucks, they have no chance of winning, and they save the fans from 12 rounds of one sided beatdown.
Because they are ****ing huge and absolutely ruin fighters. Most quit because they fear brain damage. I firmly believe all the 'great american heavies' of the past would be left shitting bricks coming up against the Klitschkos and many would quit too. It's one thing going 15 rounds with Joe Fraizer... going 12 with someone as sadistic as Vitali or frustrating as Wlad is a different story entirely.
