Jones was not shot when he fought calzaghe

the fight before lacy fought jones..lacy fought otis griffin who is a journeyman at best who has been getting knocked out by everyone who is somewhat good. lacy fought to a razor thin close majority decision with griffin...and before that lacy got schooled and beat up and almost stopped by jermain taylor. lacy is a top 70 fighter at the least right now..so no the beat down he took from jones really doesnt mean anything to me..i knew it was going to happen. and no calzaghe did not fight a prime jones. if you think so than you dont know anything my friend..roy jones has been washed up for FIVE YEARS now. he suffered three back to back losses (two of them being BRUTAL knockouts) in 2004!!..calzaghe fought him in november of 2008...i give calzaghe ZERO credit for that win. and i doubt that im alone with that opinion

This is an argument against Calzaghe.........look what Roy did to Lacy!!!!! Calzaghe schooled a game RJJ and this name is worth having on his resume.. RJJ will be world champ again....this will further JC's legacy..... Past prime, not shot. Taylor is past prime but he still nearly beat Froch, and didn't quite do as well against Lacy as Roy did awhile ago. Still both pretty good fighters really. taylor is ruined. rjj is shot.

Roy is still no where near as good as he was, but he is still a good fighter. He's not completley shot as everybody made out after the Calzaghe fight.

Evene Jermaine Taylor looked good against Lacy, Lacy is himself super shot and was overrated like a moddafukka. Joe Cal's best wins are Kessler and Hopkins, period. The RJJ fight was a freak show money super fight, not a real competitive match up. RJJ was shot the day he got KOed by Tarver, after that he was never the same. Roy was the best P4P and a terrific fighter, plus he works hard and never drinks, smoke or get fat. No wonder he's still able to look good against decent opposition.

Well he was knocked clean out by Johnson and Tarver a few years before Calzaghe got to him so he was clearly not at his best.

He is shot, the thing is prime Roy Jones was so good and a shot Roy Jones can still beat all but the best at light heavyweight. It was a decent win for Calzaghe, but not a good or great one.

Roy isnt shot but he is a shadow of his former self. People were hating on Joe so they said Roy was shot, plus his losses by KO didnt help. Now they will say Lacy was shot when he faced Calzaghe and even shotter for Jones . :sleeping:
