Can Pac/Cotto surpass Floyd/DLH?

With double digit unemployment rate, there's no way if would even come close with the Dela Hoya/Mayweather fight.

NO WAY can it do more PPV buys then DLH did because like it or not DLH is easily the biggest boxing name in America. The only fighter who was close to DLH in PPV buys in America was a prime Mike Tyson. Being that DLH isn't a HW makes his PPV buys that much more spectacular IMO...

why not in PPV? Cause DLH is a bigger name than Pacquiao and Cotto, and Floyd did A LOT of talking in the build up and hyped the **** out of the fight... I can't see Cotto or Pacquiao trash talking... and Roach wont cause Mayweather, Sr. aint there to piss him off, its all about hyping the event and I don't think the event will be hyped up as much as the Mayweather vs De La Hoya fight. Its a huge fight, but not as big to the public as Mayweather vs De La Hoya was... the fight will still be huge though and very enjoyable... to Boxing fans.

I think the bar is too high. Not only because that had the sport's all-time greatest PPV attraction in De La Hoya (I think De La Hoya fights have more than half of the slots in the the top ten all-time PPV money-makers) but also because these are not really the best of economic times, anywhere. Does it have a better than fair chance of bumping off a fight in the all-time top ten list? It has, I think.

Floyd vs DLH had mainstream promotion as where Cotto vs Pac will be a Boxing fan's fight but with much more noteriety. It's definitely getting a lot of attention, but overall marketing and promoting...Oscar and Floyd did a hell of a job promoting the fight. Cotto vs Pac though could def do 1 Mill PPV buys and that's still great. Good point. Floyd talking enough shit for 3 fights along with DLH playing the quiet good guy role was brillaint and they both played them to a T.

Most likely not.Economy is not what it was and it will have some affect,neither one of them is as big as DLH and it featured the most of the most beloved mexican fighters fighting on a mexican holiday. Just look at how much the front row seats are rumored to be goin for. Pbf vs DLH was over 35k I think I saw 22k for Pac vs Cotto.

i'm talking about PPV buys, and live attendance. I don't know, probably not in PPV buys to be honest... but who knows... it could happen I guess, but I still doubt it.
