Not who is the most explosive or undefeated but who has the most boxing skills of all the fighters out there! he doesnt have to have an umblemished record just a great boxer!
Young Tyson had speed, head movement, great chin, power in both hands, and a good defense as well as being very good technically. The only thing I think that kept him from being the complete package was he was about 3in too short.
Into equation that Tito weighed more on fight night, K.O'd Joppy something B-Hop gave his all to do and couldn't accomplish it. Its sickening that people don't bring that up, it seriously is.
Trinidad was actually a big 147lbs to imo. I think of him more as a 154lbs boiling himself down to 147.
I think he was struggling at the weight for a while.
I will never watch that Hopins/Joppy fight ever again :lol1:
THE PLATANO MAN i dont mean to get on Nard's case and i agree with what your saying, its not that they are not good wins because i believe they are fantastic wins regardless, but when you put him along side other great fighters i think you have to bring it into the equation.

Yeah but people ignore the fact that B-Hop faced Mercado, Johnson, Echols, Eastmen, Tarver, Taylor, Calzaghe...did size really matter against all the opponents I've just mentioned. Do people even consider his win against DLH any good? But they'd love to bring it up when saying B-Hop faced smaller opponents.

Hopkins was a huge!! MW which only exasperates the point when you consider DLH once fought at LW.
Tommy Hearns was a big 147 lbs to.

As for B-Hop having faced smaller opponents, SRL did the same, he was damn HUGE WW.

Complete, fight both inside/ out, against the ropes, going backwards, defense, counter punching, accuracy, speed, footwork. SRL lacked defense.
Well then we are talking about two different criteria.
Physically Leonard had everything, but you are right maybe he had technical deficiencies in defence, although having said that his footwork was exceptional!
You seem to be using your examples of fighters that were complete technically but i dont think that necessarily translates to complete fighter. Based on technical skill compiled with physical gifts Leonard has more than all of those guys imo.
Mayweather has never beaten an elite fighter in their prime and he had life and death with J L Castillo whom i dont rate as highly as others.
Whitaker is my second choice but Whitaker was not as good at fighting from long range as he was inside, and he did not have the power like a Leonard.
Hopkins is susceptible to quick fighters imo, it just so happens that his style is conducive to fight longer into his career making it seem like he is much better than he is. His best wins have been against smaller men, i respect Hopkins but thats basically true. Hopkins is great dont get me wrong.

THE PLATANO MAN
What is it Leonard did not have for you ?
He could fight inside, he could Box from range, he had great footwork, he had great coordination of hand and foot.
He had the heart of a lion and pulled fights out of the fire because of his huge heart, infact i think his heart is the main reason why he was able to adapt in his biggest fights.
He had excellent power to, he was tough, he was a combination puncher, he was one of the best finishers in the game ever!!!
SRL isn't a complete fighter and neither is Pacquiao, no way no how.
SRL's offense was sick as hell but I guess some aspects of his defense and other areas of his skill set could have used some work.
Pac, same story, I think his defense is looking better now than in the past regardless of what others say. I am not a Pac nut hugger but you can't hate the guy for winning and although the excuses come, he keeps on winning and fighting bigger guys and making no excuses for the path his career has taken.
I would not really hesitate to mention a lesser known boxer in Nonito Donaire, he has sick skills offensively, works angles, and his defense seems pretty good as well. He also has a good demeanor and stays out of trouble.
Floyd Mayweather
Pernell Whitaker
B-Hop
It don't get more complete then that
