3% sanction fee for this superfight is quite big... and I think Cotto does not want to be involve in it (there might be legal issues since he is the champion)...realistically alphabet trinkets is quite worthless nowadays due to so many organizations with their own champions and Cotto will surely pick one of those in his future fights with less amount of fees. Putting the welterweight belt on the line for Paquiao is essential to sell the fight to ordinary people...the possibility of Paquiao winning a title his seventh division is probably first time in history and a big boost to sell the PPV. I am referring to the back and forth negotiations and the inability for these guys to get this ball rolling. A few fights have already fell through this year and I would hate this fight to be yet another one of those fights that falls apart in the making. Not personal man.
