Wasn't he woofing and hollering about a bout with the Klit brothers, get one, and then back out?
Can someone fill me in on the details as I haven't followed the novela much?

Sure I'll fill ya in. Haye is a worthless ass coward little pussy that just talks shit then doesnt back it up. DUcked both bros after all his shit and now fights the russian giant who sucks but will still kick the shit out of Haye.
As far as who he can beat, I think Haye is positive he can beat the shit out of Wlad, and I give him a good chance to do so based on the glass jaw of Wlad. As for Vitali, just like you, I'm not so sure Haye really wants any of him either.
I don't think Haye has ever really shown a preference.. it was originally Vitali he went after, if anyone remembers back that far. I think he can beat either, although that wouldn't be where I would put my money. I actually give him a better chance against Vitali; I'm not convinced Wlad is significantly more 'chinny', but Vitali is no longer the fighter who lost to Lewis and I think Haye can just outwork him if he's smart.
All rather academic, now, until after the Valuev fight and permanently so if he loses it.
Well, if you were taunted, chased and had images thrust at you depicting your sibling's severed head would you be eager to give that chump a fair deal? I think the reason haye went for the deal with Wladimir even though he did not like it is that his battleship mouth backed his row boat ass into a corner. Setanta going under was just a lucky break for him to have several plausible excuses to back out. Also, I agree that haye is legitimately afraid of Vitali, but Wladimir would still school haye.
This is a combat sport, if the Klits can't take a little ribbing in the process without getting their feelings hurt, they should find another line of work.
I'm bummed the Wlad fight didn't come off. I think it would have been really exciting.
Damn at that contract stipulation. That right there is extra greasy. Based on that, I'm not feeling the Klits on this. I don't see them making those demands for other fighters.

To be honest I think Haye pulled out of fighting Vitali because he knew the contract wasn't worth it considering that Vitali is the meaner, tougher Klitschko. I think Haye was willing to sign the deal to face Wladimir, who he sees as weak due to his chin, but wasn't willing to take anything other than a decent deal to fight Vitali. I'm sure Haye thinks that beating Valuev will give him more leverage at the negotiating table, although I'm not so sure that either Klitschko will listen to him now.

Agreed. I couldn't believe the contract stipulations Wlad hit him with. It was the first and only time I've ever heard of a contract where if you win, you have to fight the ex-Champion's brother (who's also a Champion), and then if you win that one, you have to rematch the original Champion and give them a split of your money.
I bet Don King even blushed at that one.
It's possible Vitali offered David a similar contract, but we don't know for sure because it was never released to the public.
All I know is that everything looked good, and then Haye didn't show up at the press conference and had his team put out a release that he's fighting Valuev instead.
Some people think he's fighting Valuev to get his hands on that title of his so that he can have more leverage when it comes to negotiating with the Klitschko brothers.
Pulling out of the Wlad fight for "injury" sounds kind of disgusting, but the stipulations Wlad wanted him to sign in that contract were also equally disgusting. (If Haye beat Wlad, he would then have to fight Vitali, and then Wlad once more. All the while the Klitschko's would've been making money off of him as well, assuming of course he won.)
And I think he's just plain afraid of Vitali.

Why would he go into contract negotiations if he wasn't going to fight? Why didn't he go after Valuev before the Klitschko's?
Like I said, the deal Vitali offered was worse than Wlad's.
You can't say that for certain without posting what the stipulations were.
I know I was pretty shocked at the stipulations Wlad gave him.
There are suspicions Haye was not injured and the Setanta going bust (who were paying Haye's entire purse) was to blame. Either way, Haye was right to pull out.
He tried to postpone. Wlad wouldn't have any of it and brutally savaged the proven number 3 heavy in the world instead.
Vitali and Haye were then going to get it on but there was fallings out/suspect deals/people going quiet etc etc etc
Next thing we know Haye - Valuev comes out of left field.
Thanks for the brief summary. I wasn't sure if he was backing out because he didn't want the fight after all, or the injury was legit, or because of the Klits.

he had an injury. those klits are scared of haye, you can tell.
He had an injury, but now hes fighting Valuev? Instead of backing out completely, why not just postpone, or did he try that already?
