What boxers life would make for the best movies?

how about barkley? he was a gang member who used boxing to get of the streets. he had lots of great, great fights. lots of big moments, good and bad. like when he went to brittain to fight benn only to get screwed by the ref. then ofcourse pulling one of the biggest upsets ever when he beat hearns. getting a brutal beatdown with his face all messed up, in obvious pin from some of the most brutal bodyshots i ever seen. only to land that brutal right hand. it would make a good movie imo. mike mccallum would be another one. roy jones would be great too. his upbringing is interesting, getting robbed of the gold medal only to rule the sport for years. michael nunn if it hasnt been mentioned.

there has been a few movies already about the life of certain boxers. what other boxers had interesting life storys that deserve to be told to the world. my nominations: Bernard Hopkins, jermain taylor, lennox lewis, marvin hagler, iran barkley etc. your thoughs? pacquiao...they made a film about him in the philippines but it was so bad i almost threw up

Wladimir Klitschko... Everybody told him to retire after the Brewster loss, but he came back to become heavyweight champion! Quite a story... Oh for God's sake, he would probably make for the worst boxing movie out there. Stop being so ridiculously biased....

i dont know much about him except what i've read on here but jack johnson's story would seem like a good movie. Son of a slave, taking part in battle royals (several black guys some blindfolded fighting until 1 was left) eventually becoming the 1st black HW champion of the world. the bit below is from wiki about the title fight: During the fight, Johnson had mocked both Burns and his ringside crew. Every time Burns was about to go down, Johnson would hold him up again, punishing him more. The camera was stopped just as Johnson was finishing off Burns, so as not to show Burns' defeat edit: another bit from wiki about the former champion coming out of retirement as he didnt want a black champion: In 1910, former undefeated heavyweight champion James J. Jeffries came out of retirement and said "I am going into this fight for the sole purpose of proving that a white man is better than a Negro". Jeffries had not fought in six years and had to lose around 100 lb (45 kg) to try to get back to his championship fighting weight

DAMN!!!!!!....Man I'm getting really excited about this movie now. The funny thing is being a big boxing fan and the fact that I'm also a fan of John Leguizamo work as an actor this is a movie i've never really been interested in for whatever reason.:banghead: Ever since I saw Leguizamo as "Benny Blanco from the Bronx" (Carlito's way) I've been hooked. Leguizamo is cool a hell. I'll send links if I find something. Once again thanks!!! Yeah.He trained hard for the role. He looked totally badass in the movie.I belive the trailer is on youtube.

how about michael nunn and meldrick taylor? both those guys lifes make for sad but good movies imo.

Manny should act in a film about his own life, like Ali did in The Greatest. Pac could even play himself as a teenager. :rofl: Just have a shave and change his hair style... :lol1:

I saw it once in a video store but I didn't have money for it and the next day when I had it was gone.Very dissapointing. Seriously Leguizamo plays a boxer that looks,acts and fights like Arturo. The booze,women,money,false friends are in the movie and were aswell in Arturo's life.
