Francisco “Paco” Valcarcel, lawyer and president of the World Boxing Organization, is not tone deaf. Valcarcel has heard the cry from the millions of Manny Pacquiao fans and those who devoutly follow the fistic fortunes of Boricua Bomber Miguel Angel Cotto. As I reported, Cotto has thought he could hold the WBO welterweight title hostage and use it as a blackjack on the head of the Pacquiao-Cotto Nov. 14 promoter Bob Arum. I caught up with Valcarcel as he was going through airport security somewhere and we had a brief conversation Friday afternoon. Whatever happens in Cotto’s money play with Top Rank’s top dog, Valcarcel said that Pacquiao fans, Cotto fans and fight fans in general can relax. “I know that Manny is looking to make boxing history. I can appreciate that as he goes after the very tough Cotto for a seventh weight division world title,” Valcarcel said. “You can tell all the people right now, the WBO title will be on the line. You’ve got a highly respected champion fighting the Number One contender. It would be ridiculous for this not to be for the title. “No matter what happens, I assure you that this will be a WBO welterweight title fight. End of story.” Yes, you can say, well Paco is a boxing politician. That much is true. But, unlike many politicians, he has his finger on the pulse of the people. and i respect cotto and all my puerto rican brothers. look at my sig, miguel is one of my favorites and i really think that this is a 50-50 fight. whoever wins, ill be happy :cool2: I see that and I feel the same way,I cant wait until fight day,I think this is one of those fights that will be remembered in boxing history for sure

Dude i have respect for pacman and his fans I just think that everyone thinks Cotto is going to lay down and take it and come in fight night Cotto is going to shock a lot of ppl and i respect cotto and all my puerto rican brothers. look at my sig, miguel is one of my favorites and i really think that this is a 50-50 fight. whoever wins, ill be happy :cool2:

how is me saying that pacman's fans are in for a rude awakening supposed to be offensive? i stated i dont really care if its at 145 or 147 Ihope Cotto wins since I am a fan of his but for the most part i hope is a great fight even if pacman wins,I say this fight is winnable for both unlike all this ppl counting Cotto out(In my opinion Cotto wins)but pacman can win thats why im asking bro :lol1:

No title should be in line, If Manny wants the title he should of taken the fight on the 147weight not 145. dont worry. title wont be on the line manny said it himself

If Cotto came at 147 he'd inflate to 160+ as he's a fully grown WW. Manny never fought as high in weight and the ammount you inflate to is not proportional to how much u weigh in. For instance, if Pacquiao at 135 inflated to 147, he would certainly not inflate to 159 if he weighs in at 147. Cotto most certainly does. See the balance now? Perhaps you see that all along thus you want the advantage for Cotto and hope no one else has a brain and knows basic human anatomy? lol Cotto has more than fair conditions. I'd make his ass 143, Manny is being soft if you ask me. I think 145 is fair for Cotto vs Pacman fight but In my opinion if ww goes from 141 to 147 and you have to defend the title you should be able to make it in at 147,I see your point of view and I respect that I was just expressing my opinion

No title unless Pac wants to fight at the real weight. That's how I look at it. If there's no difference between 145 and 147 then there's no difference between 141 and 147.

145 is a welterweight fight when the contract allows fighters to go up to 147 i'm sorry, but a 147 limit is welterweight, 145 limit is a catchweight maybe you think that 140.000000000000001 should be a WW championship fight with the belt on the line too bro, 147 is the max limit having the fight at that weight is not mandatory. so 145 is welterweight then? if thats the case whats the bottomline?
