let's not get it twisted i want pac to win... i'm tired of floyds ignotant mouth when he should just BOX. Hatton has horrid horrid defense you can't compare the two in that respect. Cotto is no Hatton by no means. But cotto has faced Zab judah and Mosley both of which carry allot more power and similar speed and variety to pac assault...cotto beat both. neither mosley, nor judah carry the same type of speed as a manny pacquiao.....

I was wondering when Teddy Atlas was going to start talking like this about Cotto. It is really tough to say, the Clottey fight was a difficult fight but Clottey let that fight slip away and Cotto was able to take advantage of that. That cut was wicked and greatly effected Cotto, so I don't really mind how he won the fight. Cotto seems alright but he has been in a lot of tough fights. The Clottey fight was a very tough fight so mentally he seems to be alright.

Team Pacquiao knows that Cotto is already a damaged good. That's why a blown-up featherweight called out a big but damaged welterweight. :boxing:

no way in hell pac is a faster puncher that ZAB. one punch speed is zab hands down, combos would go to pac. but you also have to look at thew power that comes behind it. Pac is no wheer near a strong or fast as zab... the more i look at this fight...i think cotto has the edge. he has fought stiffer competition he might be a lil "shot" but I think he faces some demons and dealt with them in the clotty fight. I see cotto by decision or late tko... he will sharp shoot pac and catch him. cotto has great accuracy and speed and power... and if he times pac like he did mosley who was fast also... long ass night for pac... I don't know what fighter you are watching but the Manny Pacquiao I watch is as fast as I have seen in a long time and that includes Zab Judah. Did you see the left hand that KO'd Hatton? Lets see manny take a few of those body bombs Cotto throws, lets see manny take a few shots by Cotto then we will see. Cotto is not a one punch knock out artist but his punches are crisp firm punches. Manny is open to body shots and his defense although it has improved it still isnt that great. Cotto is pretty quick himself. He is patient and Im calling it right now. Manny is going to get cocky and start jumping in like he normally does with his hands up and Cotto is going to KO him with a Hopkinesque body shot. When did I say Cotto was a bum? Why is it everytime someone picks one fighter, everyone else thinks you think the loser is a bum? Here let me clarify it for you.... COTTO IS A VERY GOOD FIGHTER BUT MANNY'S SPEED, ESPECIALLY WITH HIS FEET WILL WIN HIM THIS FIGHT. In order for Cotto to land that devastating body shot as you say will happen, he will have to get inside on Manny. Meaning he will have to keep Manny in one place. I just don't think Manny will allow this, he will fight from the outside, box and use his speed and he does have the stamina to keep this up all night long.

Based on his reputation, this is good news for Cotto. I think its fair to wait another fight vs another top fighter not having his face covered in blood since rd 2 to make that statement.

Not so much damaged goods, but like it was mentioned in a thread in previous days, very young but already past his prime, Cotto's a warrior, and has been for long, he's fought the guys no one would give a chance, he's faced the thoughest competition than any current WW, and still he goes after the toughest little guy out there. He's out for another grueling fight.

I have always said Zab is the biggest underachiever ever. He has incredible talent, just never pushed himself 100%. Cotto needs to be the bully, almost play the roll of Margarito when he fought Cotto. The question will be, can Cotto withstand the left hand shots that Manny WILL land early and often? It's an intruiging fight but Manny is too fast IMO.

Teddy says Cotto is damaged mentally....That means Cotto's I.Q just shot up by 60 points. Come on Efialties....The reason Clottey stopped punching was because Cotto started countering him with left hand bombs... If Manny Pacquiao starts getting counterd with the same kind of left hands he won't be punching either....not because he is scared to throw...It will be because he will be laying unconscious on the ground. All due respect ....But Clottey has 20 times the chin that Manny does. If you think Manny can take those left hands and keep coming forward like Clottey did your smoking. I think he should've taken a big break before Pacquiao. He has fought Mosley, Margarito and clottey. That is alot of big welterweights. Cotto does not look that good because he is fighting tough fights as a TRUE champion should. I just hope he is not sooo tired that it affects him. Can you name a pacman opponent that could've beaten clottey on the night cotto fought clottey??? Forget Pacman opponents, how many active welterweights right now would be as competitive as Cotto was, let alone win? Mosley is the only one I think would have a chance. Clottey is the third best welterweight in the world and people are making too much of Cotto struggling a little.
