khan fought a near perfect fight, moving up in weight has helped his punch resistance a lot....kotelnik did land a few flush punches and amir took them well.......freddie roach has helped him mature into a man.....everything he done in the fight was controlled
Khan is ready to dominate
Negative. He has shown no signs that he will anywhere near dominant. Seriously, some people are bigging him up to be the next DLH or Leonard.
you didn't get my point. bitch
as i said he fought the fight he needed to fight with what he's got. im saying that his fighting style is not appealing, and def would not be in america. i didn't see any real top level skill in there. it was a 12 round amatuer fight that he fought. he did not sit down on one punch!...khan is pretty terrible to watch.
And, you speak for a nation?
That's your opinion fella.
And, ultimately, Amir Khan will be all over American networks if he has any modicum of success because of his standing as a household name in Britain. He has a lot of clout behind him, gone are the days really when fighters have to tweak their styles to satisfy the American fight fan, if they are a draw under their own steam.
the light welter division suits him to a T,I've not seen handspeed like this since a prime roy or camacho, leanard
Well he was fighting a guy with a semi peekaboo style and a lot of Khans punches were hitting leather but still it was a great performance.
Bitch please,
100% of boxers would incorporate the exact same style of Khan if they had the same natural gifts. Blurring handspeed, height and reach advantages, and a shit chin.
Amir Khan is exciting in my opinion, from an athletic standpoint he is incredible and handspeed like that is always impressive, also the fact he can be put away adds to his appeal.

It is the fight I expected him to fight and this was one of the reasons why I picked him to win. I also picked him to win because Kot is not a heavy hitter. But can Khan take a flush shot from a heavy handed fighter? I still say no. If he gets caught with a clean flush shot by a heavy handed hitter, his lights will go out again. This kid will have to fight like this every time if not fight like Mosley did to Margarito when facing a heavy handed opponent. Let's not forget that Prescott knocked Khan out and any other long fighter with a heavy hand can do the same and even in the first round. Amir got a little to careless towards the end, he got brave, he better not get too brave all the time or he will be put to sleep again. Marcos Maidana knocks out Khan for sure, Manny Pacquiao would also destroy Khan and that is a no brainer.
Anyway, kudos to Khan for putting on a perfect fight and his stamina was great but he will go down again, I guarantee it.
I really enjoyed Khans style during the fight . He boxed beautifully and adds to the arguement that fights dont need knockouts to be exciting . It was engrossing from start to finish. He did something that ive never seen him do in any of his fights in the eighth or ninth round where he dodged a bunch of kotelniks punches using just his reflexes.
no doubt he did what he had to do. it was effective but its just a rubbish style of fighting he has...still looks like an amatuer to me. all that running and pity pat bs for 12 rounds was just pathetic. he'l never draw in america if he fights like this.

Did you expect him to stand there and exchange punches? You know what his chins like, it would be stupid if he didn't get in and out quickly.

Agree. Khan won nearly every round, barely put a foot wrong, and dominated the more experienced fighter. A near perfect performance. Plus it is impossible to look good against Kotelnik because of his defensive style. There is a lot more coming from Khan, win or lose.
