I think people need to stop discussing the fact that Khan is "only 22" and needs more training to improve and blah blah blah.
He IS only 22.
He's been in the ring since he was 8 years old.
Er... And? Majority of the Boxers have been in the ring since their younger age. Alot even younger than 8
He's won silver in the Olympics
Yeah, at 17 years old. The dude is not even fully physically developed.
He's got like 20 something pro fights under his belt.
?
Khan has been wearing those gloves for a long time.
Again So? So has every other Boxer
Experience comes with age, not just how many times you've been in the ring.
He aint going to jump in the ring every week for titles just so you nerds can you "approve"
Live with it.
Ortiz is a hype job, hes a proper hype job, khans already knocked him out in the amateurs, his styles made for khans, khan would KO the cunt again if they ever fought, ortiz has just got a big punch, amirs boxing skills, defence, new found chin, and new found power would see him through, you cant just swing wild at khan, he showed that tonight.. kotelnik started getting scrappy and looked like shit... missing by miles...
khans a much much better boxer than Ortiz.. so in the game of boxing, you shoud be called a hype job based on overrated boxing skills..... and Amir khans no joke, hes got more skills than Oritz
Ortiz really aint that good, cant defend himself, cant handle pressure, he just curls up in a corner... what did khan do, he moves to the side, n creates more space, neutralizes the aggression... keeps calm... keeps things under control...
I'd like to see what Roach can do to Ortiz if he starts training him.
Honestly I don't think either is a hypejob but they won't be p4p material because Ortiz doesn't have heart and Khan doesn't have a chin.
Honestly both of them. BUT, to Khan's credit it looks like he's learned he's not invincible, and now he's responded by learning and taking in all his flaws and to try and fix them. He understands this and it has matured him/woke him the **** up. It's nice to see when a guy can recreate himself, let's see if Ortiz can after saying on the air "I am a quitter, I will not give the fans their moneys worth if it means me getting hit back, I rather quit as soon as I feel the opponent isn't going to backdown". Or it was something like that.
No one said that. We said WBA isnt a paper title. That's the fact.
You are assuming things now.
Stop being so bitter man. A good kid got a good win over a recognized world champion.
there is only ONE recognized world champion in each division. if u aint it u are a paper titlist. doesnt matter if its the WBA or any other belt. it has ntohing to do with how "authentic" the tile in itself is. its about if u are the man at your weight, if not its a paper title. no matter which belt it is, its common knowledge.
im not bitter. i dont dislike khan at all. i would root for him against anyone at 140 except campbell. that doesnt change the fact that hes a paper titlist.

so whoever holds the WBA is the best in every division? ill remember that

So who is the champion in your eyes?
And are ALL other holders paper champions?
Please collect your NF membership card on the way out.
manny pacquiao is the lineal 140lb champion of the world. he beat the man who beat the man etc. kostya was unified champ, lost to hatton who lost to pac. im not a pac fan btw.
Correct me if I am wrong, but isnt the WBA the original belt? WBC having branched of in the early 60's?
I think it is.
So if WBA is a paper belt, whats a real one?
so? its not the title its the champion. when valuev held the WBA did u rank him the #1 HW? was roy jones the best HW in the world after he beat ruiz? which would make lewis a paper champion?
anyone who isnt the proven best in the division is a paper champion no matter which belt he holds. khan clearly hasnt proven to be the best at 140 so WBA belt or not hes a paper champion.
he won a paper title .

Sorry pal.
Moving up in weightclass is one thing. Going straight for the title is another.
OK it's far from a superstar, but just as far from a "Hypejob".
He is champ, so he cannot be a hypejob no more
hes nto a hypejob. a hypejob is someone who cant really fight. but hes still overhyped. yes hes a champ, a good fighter. but ppls expectations are still out of control. for someone as big as khan weight was never an issue.
he won a paper title against a decent oponent. ppl are saying he will be the next big superstar. he hasnt proven himself at the top level so its fair to say he is a hypejob. i mean hes a good fighter, hes proven that. but ppl say he will be a great one, which is unproven.
Sorry pal.
