Fanatic British fans love to uphold a fighter before he does anything or if he fights bums his whole career ALA Nassem Hamed.
I haven't seen much of Khan but has he beat anybody any good? why was Prescott's victory considered in upset?
So going by those rules Wlad is a total D level loser, as he has been stopped 3 times by C class (at best) opposition.
Lennox Lewis was B level as he was KO'd by Rachman and McCall.
Tyson was B Level as he was KO'd by Douglas.
:peeright:
Wlad has made what, 14 DOMINANT title defenses? What has Khan done? OH, yer - get sparked by a D-level crude import from Columbia.
Lewis is an ATG Heavyweight who beat them all - when he was sparked he GOT STRAIGHT BACK IN THERE and either reeled off a VICIOUS, HIGHLIGHT REEL KO or MADE HIS OPPONENT CRY - A TRUE sign of greatness - no UNAVENGED LOSSES.
Tyson was FEARED and was KOed in what - his 42nd fight? By someone who was PROTOTYPICAL of the kind of fighter that was needed to beat him. Tyson is a TRUE WARRIOR who inspired TERROR into his opponents.
I cannot BELIEVE you have mentioned Khan in the same breath as those 3 UNDISPUTED HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD.
SICKENING.
GTFO.
No, he was a C-level bum that has now been relegated to a D-level bum since Prescott has been exposed.

And if he beats Kotelnik, he is a world champion with a very good name on his resume.
Actually it kind of funny if you consider the difference between Audley Harrisons career after the olympics and Amir khans and audley actually won gold remember.
Yet he seemed to be hated by the media and the complete opposite of khan.
I think it might be more to do with who you sign contracts and get involved with after the olympics didnt audley try and sign some deal with the bbc and try to represent himself.
Harrison signed a contract for his first ten fights with the BBC, as I recall. It was obviously signed by an idiot at the Beeb's end as anyone with a clue about boxing would know that those fights would never have any significance. I remember his first; all flashing lights and stage-mist for an expected 1st round KO of a tomato can. People didn't so much hate him as lose interest until his first meaningful fight came along (far too late) against Danny Williams who, unfortunately for Audley, had one of his good days.
The defining fight, though, was Guinn, where Harrison not only boxed appallingly, but showed that his mental attitude was clearly all wrong, and any real ambitions ended at that point. Since that, he's been a bit unlucky; Sprott KO'd him with a real peach of a lucky punch and he lost a very tight one (rightly) on a referee's decision to Rogie who, as it turned out, was rather better than everyone thought at the time.

The comment on Hamed rather exposes your utter cluelessness, but let's be charitable and assume you might just have one...
Who, exactly, ARE these 'fanatic British fans' supposedly 'upholding' Khan? More than a fair share of the flak Khan gets comes from British fans, and compared with the support for others (who, in fairness have done rather more) Khan gets very little.
The real story is that most British fans recognise Khan for what he is, an excellent prospect with top-notch speed and excellent skills, who is always exciting to watch. We also know his chin is, shall we say, highly dodgy. He is getting his first alphabelt fight, on the back of record perfectly adequate to justify it, at the age of 22. Please, please, feel free to try and reel off the names of current elite stars who had a string of big-name victims on their resume at the same age.
Khan also has a lot of hype associated with him; something we Brits also recognise. But so what? His management team - and himself - have created that hype on the back of the his Olympic performance; he was the only British boxer in 2004, very young, and got a silver. They have done so to make money, lots of it and to further his career by making him 'visible' long before he otherwise would have been. In other words, they were doing what they are supposed to do. If other fighters couldn't pull that off, it's not Khan's fault. Khan could retire tommorrow; any other British fighter of that age would be flipping burgers on Monday if they quit.
Judge Khan's career when he's 32, not 22.
I think british sport stars get way to much hype by the media.
Don't get me won't i think amir khan is a good talent and i hope he does well but the amount of hype he gets over here with the media is way overboard,Infact it makes me cringe sometimes.People like Frank warren don't help either as he wants to milk it for everything it's worth.
You can't really blame amir for it though as anybody would probably do the same,You have to make youre money in boxing when you are given the opportunity as you never know what will happen next. The bredis presscot fight being a good example in that it could have been all over after that.
I don't know what its like in america with their young sport stars but i wouldnt imagine it to be as bad,Although from what i can gather oscar de la hoya got a lot of media attention after the olympics.
It's interesting though because i dont think calzaghie got nearly as much media attention and hype because he was welsh compared to if he had been english.
I think floyd mayweather summed it all up for me the other day when he said amir....who??
Because in real world boxing terms thats where he is at.
Having said all that though i wish him the best of luck tonight but i do think it will be a very tough fight for him.
Then why is the picture on the front not showing him with his medal?? He is being presented as Amir Khan the pro.. not the amateur .. And what's with the DVD's??
Well people obviously want a Khan dvd or autobiography. Your telling me that if you were in Khan's shoes you would say "No forget making the dvds, I don't want the money." That's bullshit.
It's so sad to see a boxer 'hated' because he is a star. Some people really need to get a life, and leave this young man alone.

lol, Thats because he isnt an amteur fighter now...He has turned pro WELTER....Making DVD is exploiting his name/market and making money off it..its that simple.
Depends on what you consider good but Willie Limond who floored Khan only to get brutally KO'd himself later in the fight, is now the WBU lightweight champion. Barrera was an elite boxer in his prime and, although he seems to be on the decline, Khan dominated him in pretty much every round.
Him writing an autobiography has alot to do with winning silver at the olympics/being the only boxer there to represent Great britain than anything to do with him fighting at pro level....2 different thing..

"Prospects" normally don't have their autobiography out along with 4 DVD's by their 12th fight.. the man is considered a Star in the UK..

Of course he has been carefully matched he's with FRANK WARREN...ask your buddy Ricky Hatton what carefully match means in Warrens book, If he can carefully match Hatton against bums and lightweight who have no movement whatsoever for 39 odd fights at 26 years old then i would expect him to do the same for a 22 yr old chinny fella...:FlagCanad
LOL Ray!!!! how many times do I have to tell you?.. I can't stand Hatton.. getting completely pwned by PAC only made it worse..:drive:
The guy is 22 so i dont expect him to have a long list of great fighters on his resume, Name me a 22 year old who has more than 3 recognised name on his resume after 22 odd fights.....I would wait for you response.
And another thing, You would hardly see any british boxing fans hype him up has anything other than a prospect...

After doing a little research a while back ( at the time of the Martin Kristjansen fight) Khan was 16-0 before that fight
I noted that until and including Martin Kristjansen , the average KO% of his opponents was 13.2%
So he has been very carefully matched...even Now once again he is going after a guy with a low KO%
Prescott was obviously consider low risk despite his KO%
