He fought the best, and most of the time lost, doesn't matter how close it was, the way i see it, he "could" have beaten Tito, Mosley once and Mayweather, no chance in the others, but they were close fights and he came up in the short end, there's no changing that. Still i'm pretty sure most of you guys would appreciate if someone came along and battled the bigger names from 135 to 168 or somewhere in between, and made a run for their money. it'd be just like Oscar, a big attraction, not a great fighter.

No but you said most and people have listed his resume which has some very big wins and yeah i forgot Trinidad, but then again i dunno how you win 8-9 rounds or so then lose the fight without being KTFO. In his prime i can only see the Mosley 1 that i have seen him clearly beaten in a big fight. could say clottey is going to be an ATG, he fights the best and had a very close fight with cotto

people always say it doesnt matter how he lost he still lost but it does matter.if you get completly dominated is one thing but to be in so many close decisions that could have went either way with so many great fighters is saying alot and he still won some of those fights too so once again oscar = atg did say about the way he lost i said it doesnt matter he lost. im out for a bit :) be back later

Man im not the one acting like he lost all his big fights lol.. I couldn't give a shit what judges think on the fight tbfh they are mainly bent as ****, i can give you soo many examples of this.. Fact is his BIG fights he won a lot His losses the Majority are very debatable/some fair reason for it Hopkins: ****ing come on both in there primes Hopkins looked ****ing huge vs Dela Hoya Pac: Weight drained and shot to ****.. who really thinks this win/loss means anything? Mayweather: Sd vs the p4pnr1 Oscar couldn't pull the trigger at this stage either.. So basically the only loss to another big name in his prime was vs Mosley and yet he loses all his big fights? trinidad size doesnt matter with hopkins, and he did do well in the mayweather jr. fight. im not saying he lost all his big fights, he kicked vargas' arse!

In the record books no he lost, but real boxing fans know he won them specially the Trinidad fight. So if we are honest in his big fight loses he lost too Mosley x1 (clearly), Hopkins (out of his weight class), Mayweather (close/end of his career) and Pac (which shouldn't even count based on how drained/old he was) 2 BIG fights in his prime he for sure lost one of which the opponent had huge advantages over him.. man it doesnt matter if everyone in the world thought he won except the judges, you cant change it

I think his resume is pretty impressive. And I feel Felix Trinidad and Shame Mosely also should be on that resume aswell, but Whitaker is very debetable and Sturm should not be. But other than that De La Hoya has some great wins, and to say he has really beat no one is bogus.

who did he beat? vargas, mayorga, sturm and gatti. thats about it. he lost to mosley x2, hopkins, trinidad, mayweather jr and pacquaio. Then you look at it properly Mosley is my boy btw and you have it like this: He beat Mosley the second time He beat Trinidad He lost to Hopkins way out of his normal division He lost to Mayweather the best p4p apparently when he was shot ONLY by sd and Lost to Pac weight drained a shot to shit, i dont even count that loss.. You just come of as hater-ish tbh no one round here overates Dela hoya most shit on him.. well he didnt did he and a loss is a loss doesn't matter what you think, and im not a hater as i said i used to like him and still give him props that he did fight the best at the time.

if he dont get credit for beating pea then floyd dont get credit for beating him. like someone else said the only fights that he actually lost were to hopkins and manny. all the other fights could have went either way and thats saying alot because of the people he fought. delahoya = all time great!!

props to oscar for taking risk..no doubt..... Oscar's risks were very calculated. Like refusing a rematch with Mosley until Mosley hadn't won a fight in about 2+ years. Refusing Vargas until it looked like El Feroz had lost his bite, etc.

and what year was he prime, cos when he beat quartey he lost to mosley the same year, when he beat whittaker it was near the end of sweet peas career. camacho was a legit win :) Camacho wasn't a legit win - the fact that he could get down to 147 was a miracle in itself.

I agree DLH is overrated, but I give him props for fighting the best. Something a lot of fighters could learn from. yeah thats sorta what im saying

I actually shaded the Trinidad fight, the second Mosley fight and the Mayweather fight for Oscar. Definitely an ATG for me, one of the best of the last 15 years. pacquaio got a TKO victory, but it was at the end of his career by this time he had taken too many beatings

oscars resume isnt great..resume=who you beat..not who you fought...he lost lost of his big fights thanks man:)

Ike Quartey, JCC, Hector Camacho, Pernell Whitaker whittaker lost his last 4 fights, it was near the end of his career quartey was good but he lost to vargas, wright and forrest. im not saying de la hoya was bad, cos he wasnt, but he was no way near as good as people say
