Ricky Hatton has reportedly shelved retirement plans and is plotting a November comeback, according to The Sun.
There has been much conjecture surrounding the Manchester fighter's future ever since he suffered a devastating second-round knockout defeat to pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao in May.
A number of high-profile figures in the boxing community called on the 30-year-old to retire after that loss, but Hatton has instead taken time out to weigh up his options.
He has always said he does not want to end his career on a loss and is now believed to be back in the gym training for a return.
Unbeaten WBA welterweight champion Vyacheslav Senchenko, 31, is thought to be one of the names under consideration with Manchester's MEN Arena or Cardiff's Millennium Stadium both potential venues.
Fellow Briton Amir Khan is another possible opponent, although that will be reliant on the 22-year-old winning the WBA light-welterweight title from Andreas Kotelnik on Saturday night.
Hatton is overrated by Hatton fanboys, and hated by Hatton detractors. I'm not in either of those groups and do not take their opinions seriously.
Most British fans don't overrate Hatton. That is a terrible generalisation if ever I have seen one. Most of the boxing fans in the casino I watched the fight at, believed Hatton had very little chance, but they cheered him on anyway.
Fair enough.
1) Overrated because of HOW he lost to the best. Again, running into a ringpost (I have posted this before) after being check hooked is a pretty embarrassing way to go down.
2) Dunno where I stand on that.
3) If it was hype, by your admission, then someone, somewhere overrated hatton since you are lording it over Airforce that he lost money.
By a lot of counts, hatton was not favored to win, but he was overrated. He overrated himself, most of the British fans and 'pundits' (save one Brit) overrated him and even some people not native to Great Britain overrated him. If he had gone 12 rounds you might have a sound arguement, but he lost in a way that made him look even worse than when he lost to Floyd. He was 'brimming with confidence' to the point where he petitioned people to mortgage their houses and empty their banks and bet it on him. That's not overrating? What is overrating a fighter, then?

At least he's back to what he should be doing capitalizing on his popularity by fighting mediocre fighters. He never belonged with the elite fighters he just got there because of his fans and the british allowing him to wrestle Tzsyu. This guy milked his Tzsyu win dry he got millions and millions of dollars off of that win alone.
1) So, he is overrated because he lost to the best? Umm, no. Nobody had Hatton as the favourite to win those fights, so how can he be overrated?
2) That is false.
3) I'm glad you lost your money. More fool you for believing the hype. It sounds as if you were the one overrating Hatton.

I dont think Hatton was overrated either, he was clearly beaten by two guys who will rightly go down as pound for pound Gods of all time.
Only one other man managed to stop Tszyu and Malignaggi each, I think Castillo too. Hatton was rightly the best light welter in the world for several years and was in many people's pound for pound top tens for a few years also.
I do agree with Airforce that Hatton should retire, the scenes were worrying after the fight. His gorgeous girlfriend clearly suffered alot when he got knocked out by Mayweather and Pacqiou. His popularity and personality will enable him to earn alot outside of boxing. The simple truth is that his ability to hold a punch is not what it was, I'd hate to see him be the next casulty of boxing.
no i knew before the fight this bum was overated and wondered why people hyped him so much. I knew pacquiao would expose him, i am just glad the hattonhype is over.
How can a two weight world champion, multi millionaire, be exposed? Explain that to me.
And you are contradicting yourself. A minute ago you said you were upset Hatton couldn't put up a better fight against Pacquaio, and now you are glad he got exposed. What is it going to be?
1) he is overrated cause he got koed by mayweather and pacquiao. He could not even last 12 rounds in either fight, against pacquiao he almost got koed in the first round which makes things even more pothetic. He lost to luis collazo, almost got koed in the last round and held on for dear life the last round. Terrible performace against juan urango and a lucky body shot against a over the hill castillo.
2)hes the most overrated champion in the last 10 years
3)He deserves hes money yea, but take that money and never go on my televesion screen again. He robbed me of my 50 bux against pacquiao and im sure alot ppl were dissapointed with his 1 round perfomance.

I hate selfish pricks like hatton, he needs to think about how this also hurts his family. He almost died in the ring, quit u dum brit, ur lucky ur ovverrated ass got away with 20 million dollar paydays.
Probably one of the worst posts I have ever had the misfortune of reading.
1) Hatton didn't nearly die
2) He is not overrated.
3) He deserves every penny he has made.
Now get back to school.
No way is Hatton vs Khan an undercard fight. Unless Sky sports do a joint ppv.
If Khan wins this Saturday, expect Wembley Stadium to host this fight.
Doubt it would be in wembley in all fairness
Here we go again,if Hatton still wants to fight he better fight a recognisable person
The man has just been knocked out. The guy who he wants to fight is undefeated, and a WBA champion. It's a good comeback fight.
I just posted that
Khan vs. Hatton will be on the May-Pac undercard.
Nov. 14th.
Theyll need a venue that can seat 110,000 people.
