What is Cotto getting from the Pacquiao fight?

He does got a lot of money for the fight and technically another big name in his resume especially if he wins. It doesn't matter what others would say regarding the weight issues because Pacquiao is a very big name in boxing today. Despite that there are things that will be put on the line also from Cotto's end.

What Cotto will get is a chance to fight Mayweather and other fighters...also the ability to dictate negotiations.. No credit will be given for beating up on a small pac...Thats what I have been hearing on these boards... Though I think it's a slap in the face to the great hero of Asia Manny Pacquiao. I agree. The reason i pull for cotto is becuz he's cague~o like me. But pacquiao can win, they both can. This fight has generated a lot of heated threads and arguments because: a lot of pinoys think pac is a god and a lot of boricuas think cotto will do good considering he did great against quick slick southpaws ( quintana and judah ), and because simply Miguel is bigger and he's a proven welterweight who's fought 4 out of the 5 top welters. it's going to be interesting....very interesting...and cotto has a lot to gain ppl who say he just wins "money" clearly dont know that he'd be beating the top boxing icon of the moment. lol, cotto has nothing to gain? what about legacy? i think people sometimes assume others are as money driven as themselves. dont get me wrong, im sure he's going to get every penny he can out of his career but you can tell he's chasing ATG status. well the argument for that is that Pacquiao was a naturally smaller man and that this was expected but was outshined due to the hype but in the end it shouldve been the outcome from the start

Cotto is putting his title on the line. Cotto most likely will get 40 % of the purse which it is good. He will go down in weight to fight someone that already fought at 147 If Cotto beats pacquiao, he wont be p4p #1 Its the most money he can make. Only other payday on this level for him would be Mayweather
