SSM opponents since 2000 are good enough for him to be in the TOP 5 Fighters of the decade list. ODLH (2), Taylor, Forrest (2), Winky (2), Estrada, Vargas, Collazo, Cotto, mayorga and Margarito. His record in the nineties is good enough to be arguably in the top 10 of that decade. SSM has not been KO through the same span of time.
He lost to 2 taller opponents, one southpaw, who are good boxers too, that is the main reason he won't fight Paul Williams. And there is the close fight against Cotto. But from all the options out there, PW is the best challenge. SSM beats Berto, Clottey and Cintron with a hand tied on his back. (then again, I think he can't beat The Punisher)
SSM is currently the best WW out there at 38-39 y/old. No much time to add meaningful big fights to his legacy. The Mayweather Jr. fight has been way-over-due, and I believe SSM is the only boxer that beats PBF. PaC will fight Cotto. PW is the best option out there.
Who do you think will be better for SSM to make a case to be name Fighter of the Decade? :argue:
(BTW, the top of the list must have PAC, BHoP) :boxing:
Sugar Shane desperately wants and has earned the right to a mega fight with either Floyd or Manny, perhaps a rematch with Cotto if he beats Manny convincingly. Mosley is at a point in his career where he is looking for that last big win to punctuate his legacy. He doesn't have to prove himself to Paul Williams, and at least he came out and said he wouldn't fight him.
Sorry, but Paul Williams screwed himself at 147 when he started fighting at 154 and made it clear he would fight at 160.
I agree with that bigtime.
Great Post.
Williams does need to stay at one Divison and try to collect belts
Hell yeah, Shane should get a money fight. I also believe a fight with Floyd vs Moslet will happen soon, if they win there next fights.

Shane Mosley, Miguel Cotto, Josh Clottey, Carlos Quintana 3.... those are all good options for Williams fight. I rather see all of those fights at 154.
I give props for Shane coming out and saying he didn't want to face Williams instead of saying that he would fight him and doing everything in his power not to, like so many do now.
Cintron had his chane with Williams and Mosley. Both fight were signed and about to happen. He backed out a month before each of them. Mosley went on to fave Collazo and Williams vs Quintana. So, since Cintron got his ass beat by Margo from post to post and lost twice in one fight to Martinez. He thinks beating Angulo a 15-0 prospect will get him a big fight. Please
Williams should clean 154 or try to get Pavlik at MW. No WW is going to fight that man at the moment. There all trying to make money with huge fights. Williams can ruin those plans.
Sad but true
"Ill fight anyone but him...Our styles dont matchup well"
---------Shane Mosley, #1 Ranked WW in the world
Yep! He said it. He is a fool. Berto and Cintron are the two runners up. Cintron called out SSM for a while years ago when he holded a belt.
