The main objectives of this thread are the following: (1) to find out from boxing fans what they want for their favorite boxer(s) to do when confronted with an overwhelming odds during a fight, (2) for the fans to protect their idols reputation and legacy. (3) To determine and drive a wedge between a boxer with a mediocre skills from a great fighter.
i think it depends on the fight and what options you got and what advantages you got over that opponent even if your getting beat. i guess it's different for every fighter and fight.
jab, keep turning opponent, play defense for a round or two while resting, use saved energy for timed, strategic knockout blow.
Excellent point!!!
How about a boxer who got used to fighting Class D opponents and all of a sudden confronted with a good boxer. Usually, the boxer quit prematurely because they don't have the heart and lacks the motivation to fight 'till they get KTFO.
Depends, personally I hate quitting but I know what I can and cannot do. If I am broken down, nothing is hurting my opponent, and just being killed like Cotto was, then hell yeah. Take the knee.
People can be ballsy with their post but when your running on E and just cant get anything off, and your getting battered to a pulp... you gotta quit. It's pride or your health. Im takin my health every time.
I've seen fighters getting overwhelmed and then come back and KO someone. The question is circumstantial and a hard one to answer because every fight has it's on set of circumstances.
