I know Ortiz is in the 140 division and "Canelo" in the 147, but I think Ortiz would be comfortable at 147.
At this point in their careers who would win between these 2 young prospects and why?
Also who do you guys think has the brighter future ahead of them?
His older brother Rigoberto Alvarez, 22-0 (KO 16), who is almost the same height of Canelo and is fighting as a Supermiddleweight.

Canelo is a light middleweight fighting as a welterweight.
More like a Light Heavyweight fighting as a welterweight :D
He cuts lots of weight.

If they fight at 140 then I say victor ortiz wins by KO but if they fight at 147 147 then it would still be ortiz by decision.
Victor has to taste defeat in order to wake him up and he has to stop listening to his team that he's the center of the boxing world. He has to regain that hunger he experienced during childhood. I'm not giving up on victor yet, I think the boy is destined to become a boxing champ.
Canelo by KO, he's bigger than Ortiz, Canelo even fought as a middleweight when he was an amateur.
And has more heart, this will be a good fight to have on HBO, passing of the torch, to be the next Superstar of Golden Boy, haha!!
