Lame man :boxing:
Grand Champ > Sir Tom Jones by early KO.
Sorry but the Welsh could box the ears of any dane.
Lol, sry for the ''foul language'' Didn't knew I was writing with a bitch :crying:. It's all good though. Just don't write with those big fat green letters anymore and we are cool. ;)
lol :spank:
1. Duran didn't win any title at 168.
2. Lalonde, for lack of a better term, sucked.
3. You have a serious hate problem for Hopkins.
1. You are right I checked, thought he beat Barkley for a 168 lb. title my bad.
2. Yes he did, but he was able to give srl problems before he got ko'd. Still, srl's career above 160 is far better than what Oscar, Tito, or any of Hopkins big name, lighter weight competition could muster, which was the point anyway.
3. I don't consider it "hate", but a love for confirming that Hopkins is overrated...lol
tarver was overrated...made a name for himself beating all of jones leftovers...jones was his big hard on, and when he finally beat him, you saw how mediocre he was when he couldn't quite get motivated to fight anybody other than roy or dominate anybody else...as long as jones reigned over 175, hopkins (even though he was a lightheavy fighting at middleweight) was content to fight the morrade hakkars of the world at 160...hopkins only moved up to 175 once he saw jones was shot and was convinced that tarver was a unmotivated one hit wonder...
Tarver held two belts at 175 BEFORE he fought Jones. And was on quite a run - an extremely impressive one - before the two met. You act like Tarver was some nobody, he was absolutely Jones' biggest threat at 175 before he decided to go to heavyweight. And you're right, he couldn't get up for anyone after Roy, although he somehow managed to beat Glen Johnson twice IMO RIGHT AFTER.
Your last statement is just weird. You have issues with Hops, I get it. But seriously...serious?
duran grabbed titles at 160 and 168 against moore (?) and barkley when it was thought he was finished...Lalonde floored srl before ray got him outta there...hearns grabbed titles at 160, 68 and at 175 against a prime virgil hill...
tito, de la doughboy, etc. don't compare to srl, duran, hearns, or even hagler's b-list comp. at 160 and above...again, hagler's biggest $ wins came smaller men, but true all-time greats...far stiffer comp than hopkins would ever face outside of jones and calzaghe, to which again, he lost to both...and look at that weak list of fighters hopkins rolled over to get 20 defenses against...robert allen 3 times, morrade (sp) hakkar? give me a break
man i can go on and on about hopkins overrated career..lol

I would put my money on Hagler. But I would NOT be at all surprised to see Hopkins figure out a way to pull out the win.
Thing is, and I'm not putting this in a "Hopkins fights smaller guys" type of way, but he's just so physical and I don't think his physicality has ever been matched really. Hagler would match him in terms of physicality and is also comparable in terms of skill. Plus he's a southpaw. Obviously Hopkins hasn't proved to have any sort of trouble with southpaw's, but some southpaw's come at tougher angles than others.
It's just so hard to deter Hagler. I've never seen Hopkins win a fight where he got absolutely zero respect. Hagler would give him no respect. Hagler's win over Mugabi, in my opinion, is arguably his best win. That was a large, large man that just wilted while Marvin did not.
Out of all the fantasy fights, this one intrigues me as much as any. Hell, throw Monzon in there. He'd be a serious handful for either one as well.
Spot on. Its obvious that you've done a little history on Hagler.

lol, so I guess losing to taylor didn't have anything to do with him moving up to 175?? fuuckin idiot
as if losing to taylor wasn't bad enough...2X at that ....llmfao...
he had the choice of fighting a prime winky wright at his best weight and a green taylor...we all know who he chose and how he lost so no need to revisit that...lol...
after that embarrassing set of losses, had the option of fighting calzaghe 1 division up at 168 or fighting the ultimate fighting machine (lol) tarver at 175...i guess he had the foresight to know that he would have lost to calzaghe at any time and at any weight...lmmfao
tarver was fat against hopkins, he was in shocking shape. tarver has never impressed me. who has tarver beat as good as kessler? he beat a shot jones, so ****ing what? he even lost to a drained jones the first time.

Duran was successful above 160? Leonard? Oh right...Lalonde (rolls eyes).
Yeah, Hagler's biggest wins came against smaller guys - he had quite an impressive reign, however, against some tough opposition but...so did Hopkins.

That's true. I mean, he did lose about 3 rounds.
Are you on crack?
Translation: eric harding? who's that?
arver did better against a close to Prime Jones, where very few gave him a chance, while Calzaghe almost got KTFO by a Jones nobody gave a chance and hadn't hurt anybody in years. Tarver would counter Calzaghe with a bomb like he always does, and Calzaghe would go down, but would he get up?
tarver has more power than calzaghe that's why he won by ko, that doesnt make him better, hell tarver nearly lost the 3rd fight against jones.
That's true. I mean, he did lose about 3 rounds.
tarver is not as big as a puncher as you make out, why would a prime calzaghe be dropped by him?
Are you on crack?
eric harding? not a chance mate

No he would not. Listen man who the hell has Kessler beat that comes even close to Tarver? Andrate? Mundine? Kessler is so overrated it isn't even funny.
Also youthink Tarver was fat? Lmao.and the Tarver Hopkins fought was the Tarver that just destroyed Roy Jones, in 2 rounds who arguably never lost, while Calzaghe couldn't beat him without almost getting Koed himself 4 years and two KO losses later.

What happens to Calzaghe when he gets caught in the first round and goes down this time when the guy he is facing is a hitter with one punch power?

He beat Jones who is worlds better. Call him shot (he wasn't) but I'll take a faded Jones over Mikkel Kessler. Sh*t, I'll take Eric Harding over Kessler. But you probably never heard of him.

What an out of condition fighter.
that's the fight against dawson, not hopkins. he was in terrible shape against hopkins.
At least Harding proved himself, and his most notable accomplishments were wins, and not losses.
Yeah, and even if his accomplishments were losses, I'd take his performance against a prime Jones with one hand over Kessler's loss to Calzaghe.
