Obviously my natural stance should be south paw, and im 5ft9 and weigh 65kg, so im fairly slim, not very stocky. I have a hard left hand, with a mean left hook, and from an orthordox stance its great. When I fight southpaw I just cant right hook effectively, my right really isn't very good. Because of my built it's probably better I fight southpaw, and use my height and reach to my advantage, but with a shitty right jab hook and uppercut lol. Any advice? Thanks!
Before I boxed, I was always confident in my right hand and always imagined myself KO'ing people with it. Now my left hand is deadly, and my stlye is abit like Fraziers, lot of head movement to set up my left-hook, that's how important it's gotten.
I see I see, yeah great style for a big left hook. I must start training my right no matter what, dont want to rely on my left. My style's kinda like Tito, but more on my toes in-out.

Oh so your right hander with the same problem as me, do you feel your more effective fighting southpaw?
yes cuz my jab is strong and i could throw a whole bunch of jabs
That's becoming more and more common to do..it's always been a good idea IMO..I believe the jab is the most effective punch you can possess..and if it's stiff and has good POP then you're good..just make sure to train your cross and since you power hand is in the front..you're hook will be good..but your cross will need the most help..

either way, orthodox or southpaw, you need to work on your right hand.
When I first started I felt more comfortable in southpaw stance, but I trained my left hand in orthodox. I think it's a better idea to stick to the books and go for the stance they say so you can train your weaker hand to be strong, or atleast till you get used to throwing it with some power. But it sometimes works if you're naturally strong in both hands. I mean look at Cotto, natural left-hander in orthodox and he still has a mean right cross he loves to throw upstairs.
Yeah you got a point their. I think I might stay orthodox, but just train my straight rights alot, power and accuracy. I dont really want to jeopardize my left hook, its my best shot.

i got the same problem but im orthodox but my left jab is not that good and my left hook is not that good either. i like working from the southpaw stance
