Gamboa really does show fantastic potential, but i think it is way to early to throw him in there against Lopez.
Lopez, IMO, is already ready for fights against big names like Vazquez and Marquez and Caballero.
Could you imagine Gamboa in against those guys? Defensively, Gamboa needs work and experience. Those guys would catch him and probably knock him out in a few rounds.
Gamboa-Lopez would be an awsome fight, but i think it is too early for Gamboa. Gamboa needs another year and a half or 2 years b4 he will be ready
Thoughts???
Ye but offensively he needs some work as well. He jumps in a lot and throws reckless combinations.
He still commits something that is a staple in amatuers turning pro. They throw combinations without thinking about the next punch. In the amatuers they would throw 100 punches in a row without even thinking. In the pros you do that and you'll get caught inbetween shots. Gamboa still does this A LOT
Spot on , he still has amateurish traits , e.g. in his last fight when he first hurt rojas he immediatelly went on the attack and in his eagerness slipped on the mat . If he does this against an elite fighter like lopez or john he'll be in big trouble. He has to iron out these problems and tighten his lazy defense , on the other hand he has incredibly fast and powerful hands and would make it a fight with any of those guys
I think he can if he's challenged. In fact, I am sure he will.
He's not gonna treat JuanMa like one of the dudes he's fought in the past.
He will be on his a game.

I don't think Juanma is ready to fight big names yet, I mean hes only fought one good opponent in my book (ponce De Leon) and you think hes ready. Caballero and Juanma would be a decent fight thou.
jaunma will ko him or caballero it dont matter which one or both in whatever sequence you would like the fights to take place
homie is the real deal and hits really really hard

if he could sharpen his defense, JML is in trouble... otherwise gamboa is going to get stopped.
Agreed. His chin is too suspect for his very lax-defensive game. His hands are incredible though, and just that fact will make him dangerous for anyone.
