Maidana-Ortiz is the fight of the year! This is the best fight I have seen in a number of years. you haven't seen many boxing matches then.

The only knock on the fight is that it was ended with Ortiz quitting. It was so good, though, that every time one guy went down, I was rooting for him to get up so that I could see more of the fight.

The 3 rounds where KDs didnt occur were very sloppily fought, and had alot of mauling in them.

Great fight, just faintly depressing that one of boxing's rising stars saw his career maybe permanently derailed because of it. Let's hope not. He should get back to boxing, like Steward said. That worked for Wlad.

I couldnt DISagree more. A guy put on a pathetic display of heart, and the mid rounds were very boring and sloppy. Constant clinching. It was dramatic but it was not a good fight. not even in my top 15 of this year

I liked Solis-VIloria and JMM-Juan Diaz better

It surely was entertaining as hell. Several times I jumped up out of my seat with applause for both fighters. Maidana showed courageous heart, more than Ortiz. Ortiz gave it his all, just wasn't enough.

Sorry a fight ending with a guy quitting, is not the fight of the year.... maybe had he stayed on the canvas.
