I'm being a selfish boxing fan here, but I hope Pacquiao loses in the 2010 congressional elections in the Philippines. If he wins that means he's done boxing. If he loses that means there is a chance he can get a few more years of boxing.
I just don't want to see him leave when he is still getting better. It's like Jordan going off and playing baseball.
i don't have anything against pac going into politics...aside from the fact that his decision to run is very much premature...wait till he retires then he goes to politics..what he's doing is he's retiring so he can join the political bandwagon...
he could be the president AND STILL FIGHT lol
introducing: President Paquiao, and he comes out wearing a suit lol
Imagine being booed as a leader, and at the same time, cheered as wildly being a fighter.
I don't think he can handle being part time president and part time fighter :D
I will be the first to pray that he lost after reading this article here...

I honestly believe millions of Filipinos are hoping he'll lose so I don't see him winning it but hey, I don't exactly follow politics in the Philippines.
You just echoed the sentiment of most of my fellow Pinoys.
But if he wins, I don't think he'll stay long in office. He will be surrounded by corrupt congressmen at the House where he will be battered, especially in the English department :D
Bottom line, I think he will resign so soon and return to boxing.
I think when Manny retires, Roach will retire too. They BOTH care about each other and I don't think Manny would want to keep Roach going any more than he has to. It's not like Roach is getting any healthier either. I would like to see them do 1-2 more fights in a ride off into the sunset victorious nothing more to prove sort of thing for both of their sakes. I wouldn't blame them or feel robbed if they did decide that.
I don't think Roach has any plans to stop, even after Pacquiao is done. He and Khan could go on for a while. Plus he just started working with the fantastic Cuban prospects. I think Roach will continue to train until he is physically unable to.
He can do much more by fighting then being the governor or whatever he wants to run for. I think people would rather watch him fight right now, he can go into politics in the future, he's in his prime.

i give a pac to politics...if people votes him then he will win the election...
There is no way Freddie Roach will let him fight past his prime. He knows first hand what happens when fighters do, and he cares for Manny.

I hope he wins so that he doesnt **** his life by boxing until hes like 40 or something. He should just fight those 3 guys you mentioned, with the jmm3 fight in the phillippines.
the truth
Leaving the game when your at the very top is like a fairytale ending to most athletes, yet so very few ever have the opportunity to exercise it.
