OKay. This isn't a flame thread. Just messing around with this game idea. I don't want that racism bullshit. It's not needed or wanted.
Here are the rules...
1. Post all the fights with Puerto Rican and Mexican fighters involved FROM THE LAST TEN YEARS. Nothing before it, nothing to come.
2. If a fighter has even a hint of either Puerto Rican or Mexican blood within him, he counts. If he could make that countries Olympic team based upon a bloodline, he qualifies so long as his opponent is from the opposite country, or has the hint I referred to.
3. It's not based on a fight by fight system, because that doesn't measure the magnitude of the fight. So it's based on a point system. Bigger the profile of the fight, the more it's worth for the 'team.' The winner earns points for the team, while the loser subtracts points for the team.
Points are decided by this system.....
Stage - Winners Points - Losers Deduction
HBO PPV - 8 - -4
HBO - 6 - -3
Showtime/OTHER PPV - 4 - -2
ESPN(ANY CHANNEL) - 2 - -1
ANYTHING ELSE - 1 - -0 (Full point awarded, undercard or not.)
NOTE: If the fight is an undercard contest, ALL scored/deductions are cut in half, other than the 'anything else' category. Also, when giving a fight, make sure to list the network it was showcased on. I'm not trying to hunt that down.
Okay, with that in mind, away we go. Remember, last five years, and a point system. I'll start off with the first 5 fights that come to mind.
Cotto/Margarito(HBO PPV)
Lopez/De Leon(HBO Undercard)
Cotto/Gomez(HBO)
Cintron/Margarito I and II(Other PPV/HBO Undercard)
Cintron/Angulo(HBO Undercard)
Trinidad/De La Hoya(HBO PPV)
Morel/M. Castillo(HBO PPV Undercard)
Morel/Ruiz(Other)
Morel/Vargas(Other)
Morel/Garcia(Other)
Camacho/Campas-Draw(Other PPV)
Calderon-Cazares II(Other PPV)
Calderon-Esque(Other PPV)
Santon-Margarito II(HBO)
Cintron-Estrada(ESPN)
With this list, we have.....
PUERTO RICO= 27.5 - MEXICO= 3
First team to 50, WINS!
Add fights to the list, and I'll add them and add this all up.
Remember, no bullshit. Just fun.
Lets go.
Something like that.
Ever got in a fight while wearing chancletas?
They can ruin your chances of victory like no other piece of footware this side of stilettos. :lol1:
True. But with **** pumps, you atleast have the ability to remove them and gauge an eyeball. Chancletas would sting................... And irritate the bastard further.
So, your memory must run out of breath, trying to breathe.

I have plenty of wife beaters. But only two pairs of chancletas. :lol1:
You TKO 3 my memory.
My memory gases more than the bastard child of Jermain Taylor and Oscar De La Hoya.

Get out your chancletas and wife beater right now.

What about a guy who has no Puerto Rican blood whatsoever, but grew up in neighborhoods filled with them? Guys like me? :lol1:
Get out your chancletas and wife beater right now.
I just want you to know that my piss poor memory of specific network broadcasts hate you.
I'm still cool with you though.
But my memory hates your damn guts.
I'll fight your memory to the DEATH!
Hey, don't put it on me. You're the one that said they are better not counted as puertoricans without even looking it up. and I've explained with no mean of offending anyone as a full born and raised puertorican that I am.

But in a way, that's a good thing. This way, if you can't remember CERTAIN things about the fight, it obviously wasn't much of a game changing fight. And a fight on Telefutura shouldn't be worth as much as say, Showtime, for that matter. The magnitude is different for the fighters, so the points should be different.

My problem is this.
I'm remembering a lot of Mexican vs. Puerto Rican fights as of late.
But I can't recall whether or not they were broadcast, and if so, which network it was on, and if so, whether or not it was an undercard, or main event, or world tv, or whatever the hell.
I think you should just scrap having to know who broadcast it, and whether or not it was a main event or an undercard, or on world tv, or only in Mexico, or only in PR.
And just give a bonus point or two to the ones we know for sure were mega events like Oscar/Tito, Cotto/Margs, etc.....
Not many of us are going to remember whether or not a fight from 10 years ago was a main event, or which undercard it was on, or which network showed it, or whatever.

If someone wants to be puertorican that's fine with me. If they were born in Puerto Rico or by family that were born in Puerto Rico then they're puertoricans. There's nothing call as a boricua bloodline and we are mix by indians, spanish, and africans. But hey, that's me.
Don't try to ruin this game, DAMN YOU!

It's official. No contests don't count. Draws mean that both sides split the winners points. And only fights that have originated from the U.S. This is mainly due to the fact that bums are usually fed to the home fighter and that the better fights happen on mutual ground. With that said, if it was in a different country, that is fine. So long as a decent 'American' based network, showcases the fight.
Margarito - Santos, I think both fights were on BAD, I know the second one was, not too sure about the first one. NC and SD for Santos.
Margarito vs Cintron 1 & 2 - First one was on ESPN PPV, second on WCB.
Now I have to question whether or not I count world tv......... Damn you, Silencers.
:D
