End of the day, Cotto would probably have come in at 145 anyway, so there should be no excuses after the fight. True Cotto came in 146 for Clottey. I would have suspected Cotto would want to come in lighter anyway for Pacquiao to help his speed. Cotto would have come in @ 144-146 for Pacquiao not at 147 imo even with no weight limit. There were no advantages to the imposed max weight on Cotto for Manny. Everyone is underestimating Cotto though who I give a 50% chance of winning this fight.

Hatton was labeled a pretty damn good body puncher. Hatton was also labeled as a figther who charges in head first with little regard for defense. Cotto is a lot better than Hatton...believe me. I think it will be a close fight, it can go either way, it all depends on whether Cotto can effectively land on Manny and whether Manny's power punches will have an effect on the bigger Cotto.

Pacquiao fans need to keep it humble. Exactly my thoughts.

I hear ya, but Manny's surprised us in both the Oscar and Ricky fights. That same question was posed in those fights: Can Manny handle Oscar's power, Can Manny handle Ricky's power. It both cases, it was a non-issue. I think Manny is for real at or around 140. At 145 against Cotto, he should be able to handle his business. thats the thing he surprised you.. I was not surprised at all, I figured that at the end Manny would come out the winner.. the only thing that was surprising at the moment is that DLH didn't do shit.. Why would Cotto want to stretch out the fight? Poor stamina + a still very active Pac in the late rounds could cause him a lot of trouble. If anything he should try ending it early. Really see if Pac can take shots from a WW. I agree, Cotto should try to end it early because of Pacquiao`s stamina. However, if Cotto does this, Pac won`t allow it, and he will turn the fight into a slugfest. This was one of Hatton`s downfalls. In fact, either way, I don`t think this fight will last at all, maybe round 3.

The OP is correct. Cotto has never faced anything like Paciauo, but only because it's coming at him in a southpaw package.
