Alot of people think Wladimir K is a great champion who could match up to past heavyweight champions.
He's into his 50's in terms of numbers of fights. More than alot of heavyweight greats have had even post retirement.
So I think it's time to ask the question. What are Wlads top five wins.
Every great heavyweight has their great wins. What are wlads?
If he adds some of these : Povetkin,Dimitrenko,Valuev,Haye,Arreola it looks much better.
Good shout, i think his resume would look alot better with these names on his resume.
So would it be fair to assume he could beat all past heavyweight champions Lewis, Tyson, Ali etc.
Something many of Klitschko's fans say is probable.
I think he is the Johansson for the new millienium

I agree.
Haye is the one he needs. Even though he probably won't be the best name on Wladimir's resume he is notable and that fight will receive a lot of hype.
If he can add Haye and another of the names you mentioned he will have a very good resume. That, combined with the fact that his performances have been dominant, should hold his legacy in good stead.
He has a very solid resume but it just lacks a bit of glitter... A couple more career defining fights. It's not his fault but it's true
On the up side the Chagaev win was very good and one of his best, and with good fighters and, possibly more importantly, good names on the horizon like Povetkin and Haye he'll be just fine by the time he's hangs 'em up, so long as he keeps winning
Firstly, it is not that bad of a bunch. The way some of you go on you would have us believe they don't have legs these guys, sure they are not ATG fighters but there are some pretty solid fighters in there.
Secondly, what do you want him to do about it? He is fighting the absolute best guys in the division whenever he can. That is all that he can do. He is fighting and dominating the best of his era.
when did i say i wanted him to do anything about it,he cant
he fight how he likes to fight and wins easily im not complaining just stating the facts and some people dont like it
I think his KO of Barrett is underrated and possibly better than the one Saturday night. Perhaps not in the sense of achievement but in performance combined with achievement. As inconsistent as he was, a prime Barrett was a forced to be reckoned with. For those who haven't seen that fight and want to see how scary Wlad can be, watch the way he flattens Two Gunz.
Wlad is in a tough situation. Whether his fans like it or not, his opposition has been underwhelming. But you can't blame him for that and he's certainly where he should be: far ahead of the pack. Much further than his brother, I might add. Klitschko may never have that career defining fight and his early defeats and strange performances can and will be used against him. However, if he's able to dominate a couple more years, there will be no doubting his Hall of Fame credentials. How he'll be ranked among the other great heavyweights will be determined when he hangs them up.
like i said he has beaten everybody out there easily, but none of them were great-he is the best of a bad bunch
call me what u like, its the truth

Hundreds of opponents, if you add up their won-loss records!
Next thing you'll be saying Felix Savon is no good, since he lost in the amateurs to Chagaev, who lost to Wlad on Saturday.
It really doesn't matter who Wlad beats, jackasses like you will just say they are no good.

Once again, instead of attacking by yourself, you jump in when I'm debating with someone else. You are a cowardly little puke. :puke:
Absolutely no attack intended there Tunney. I was simply stating that "What have you achieved?" is not a valid line of argument when debating a world champion's professional fight record.
Wolfgramme won Silver at super heavyweight in the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. Not too shabby...
What is your greatest achievement? I bet you don't have any.
wolfgramme was a damn tomato can in the pro ranks and you know it. stop hyping up bums to make wlad look better. reason he was never knocked down or out cause he fought all bums until he met wlad and he lost to a guy who was 10-25 and the only other times he stepped up in competition he lost as well.

This is a useless argument, and you know it. Who cares what we have all achieved on a personal level? We are debating the merits of a fighter's standing in this thread that is it.
All that needs to be said is that Wladimir Klitschko is fighting and dominating every champion/top contender that is put in front of him. The sole exception is his brother who he cannot reasonably be expected to fight.
What more can be done? You just can't ask anything more from the Champion of a division. He is fighting the best and beating the best. Clearly. End of.
Peter was picked across the board, on nearly every fansite and forum, to KO Wlad within 5. Peter was on a path of destruction, and Wlad had gassed out in that weird way against Brewster, and had not looked like the old Wlad since the Brewster fight. Peter looked invincible going in, and took an unholy beating in that fight, and was just demoralized every time Wlad got up (from legal and illegal shots) and Peter has never really been the same since.
That fight was a huge turning point, where Wlad has been the best HW in the world since that night and not looked back. So to me, that's Wlad's best victory.
Undefeated fighters (7)
Chagaev 25-0
Ibragimov 22-0
Brock 29-0
Peter 24-0
Castillo 18-0
Shaheed 16-0
Vujecic 14-0
Former, future or current world champions: (8)
Byrd (2)
Peter
Chagaev
Ibragimov
Mercer
Brewster
Rahman
The best statistic on Wladimir Klitschko, though, is HOW MANY OPPONENTS HE'S KOed WHO WERE NEVER STOPPED BEFORE. I believe he's the best of the past 50 years in this category. There are so many:
Thompson
Bostice
Barrett
Shultz
Chagaev
Shufford
Mercer
Vujecic
Brock
Castillo
Shaheed
Wolfgramme
and several others.
but who had those guys fought tunney?
David Bostice was regarded as one of the top American heavyweight prospects at the time, and had never been stopped or even knocked down before. Wlad put him on the canvas twice in the first and twice in the second. Bostice openly wept in his corner after the fight, and was never the same fighter afterwards.
Paea Wolfgramme had an excellent amateur pedigree, and was physically bigger than Wlad at about 280 pounds. He had never previously been stopped or even knocked down, and had lost only one close decision. Wlad knocked him out in the first round.
Monte Barrett, who was highly regarded at the time, had never previously been stopped or even knocked down, but he went down five times in the fight.
The underrated Tony Thompson had never been stopped or even knocked down before he fought Wlad (he had only one close decision loss in a four round fight).
Phil Jackson was a strong puncher, but I don't rate him as one of Wlad's better wins.
tunney hyping up some guy named Paea Wolfgramme. guess it is true. some people have no dignity.
What is Wladimir supposed to do? He is fighting all of the champions and top contenders there are for him to fight. What more can you ask of a champion? He is fighting them all and knocking them all out.
I don't get you people.
Waldo's has plenty good stoppages, but Saturday night was his biggest triumph, I don't think that can be argued. Povetkin will be another big scalp, then Arreola or Haye (if there is anything of him left after Vitaly KTFO him). So the best is yet to come. Bring it on!
