I made this thread after the fight and another post about it yesterday. Both of those guys looked like they were 7-10 pounds smaller than normal and they both even looked an inch shorter but I know that cant be true

He seemed to be trimmer but I also noticed him eating left uppercuts all night. I am surprised that a fighter of his experience still hasn't figured out to fix this major flaw in his game. It has always been a flaw in him but Margarito finally capitalized on it. Now the word is out but I guess u can't teach and old dog new tricks.
Cotto is nowhere near Floyd skill level, don't try that. He simply goes on his bike. It's called survival mode. He doesn't go to the ropes because he wants to, like Floyd. He goes to the ropes near the end of his fights because his tank is depleted. I guess cocaine is an hell of a drug. I hope he's not into that really.
in every thread u find a dummy.......ur rite floyd starts the fight on his bike n finishes running by the way castillo beat floyd the 1st time they fought

its called boxing, he doesnt go on his "bike"
he jus slows the pace later in the fight,
but thats a good skill.

i think he looked a little thinner but stronger.
i don't really know if he looked skinnier...i would have to watch the fight again and his last 2 fights to really judge...now, i did notice something though in the last 4 rounds...i noticed how cotto started boxing and moving like floyd does, and he was imitating his style some, trying to fight off of the ropes and use the ropes to his advantage...people claimed that cotto was running...he did move around a lot, but he tried to do so in a mayweather way, and it didn't work for him imo, but it did in the judges opinion...hmmm?
he even tried the block like floyd did...i've noticed cotto trying to fight like floyd does his last 3 fights....blocking punches and moving and fighting off of the ropes....maybe floyd's style is the style to have afterall...i mean, shane has tried to imulate floyd in his fights also...throwing that jab to the body, not saying floyd made that punch up, but he has used it majority of his career and shane hasn't until recently...hmmmm? i've seen some of mayweather in pacman also....floyd's style is starting to show in these fighters...

Yea that was the shit.
I think it was in the Mayweather - Dela Hoya 24-7
I forget everybody he did.
Oscar
May
and Tito
I think...he was on point though...I remember that.
Yeah man, I think that's what it was.

Doing all that weight training is a mistake....All those blood heavy muscles might be why he's tiring faster and slowing down a bit.
Weight Trainers ruin boxers imo.
Yup. That's why Calzaghe never really did weights, it's not a good thing to be muscled up like a meathead. Joe spent most of his time working on stamina, basically running a lot.

i mean, shane has tried to imulate floyd in his fights also
Shane can emulate lots of styles. Anyone see that video where he explains several fighters' styles and imitates their stance, movement, etc? It looked like he has got them down real well.

I think if anything he came in packing a lot more muscle and fitter...which might take away from his overall bulkyness.
I think so to........and yes TS Clottey did seem a bit thinner than usual

Nah he was just in good shape.
He was on weight earlier than he usually is for fights before the Clottey fight. He weighed in at 146. He's even said he can go to 145 to fight Pacquiao. Plus he looked skinny next to Clottey whos very muscular and bulks up to as high as 170 on fight night.
no need to move up or worry about it

I did usually he has a small tire around his gut area and ends up losing it later on but this time he seemed really fit for before fight night.
I think it was a good change, he still showed significant punching power and speed when needed
