i hope he sparks Chageav out he looked terrible in the Drumond fight.
Whoa, someone who actually saw it for what it was! :shk1: That was one of the worst fights of the year, and the most idiotic stoppage for a while.
Khan-Barrera had major reasons to be stopped, but Chags-Drumond was outright pussification(?) from the ref and officials - they just wanted to maintain his padded undefeated streak.
If you fall asleep during a fight for the greatest title in sport then shame on you. In that case you shouldn't call yourself a fight-fan. Sorry but that's the truth.
I dont know i have seen some terrible heavyweight title fights over the years Bonecrusher vs Tyson comes to mind, Wlad used to be a veryexciting fighter before Manny change his style Its much more effective but not so great to watch anyway i hope he sparks Chageav out he looked terrible in the Drumond fight.
I just wonder about Chagaev's power and if he can throw the left quick enough and hard enough to jolt Wlad.
Overall since Sanders and Brewster, Wlad has done a good job against left hands.
I hope this isn't similar to the Ibragimov fight but I would be crazy not to watch someone going for 3 belts in the heavyweight division. You're right.
If I didn't, I couldn't call myself a real fan.
Although also a very tall fighter obviously Wlad is a totally different ballgame than Valuev. However that fight proved that Chagaev has the moves and skills to avoid getting tagged on the outside and be effective on half-distance and inside. Valuev, as I said, is no Wlad but there are similarities.
On the other hand Chagaev is no Haye and far from it. Haye is an orthodox banger while Chagaev is a southpaw boxer. I don't care that Wlad says that the transition to a southpaw will be no problem. I think it will.
I tell you what. Haye might be more unpredictable, but Chagaev has a much better chance of winning than Haye. Chagaev is an excellent fight and he will come to win. Add also that he's a southpaw and that Wlad had prepared for an orthodox and you just might have a recipe for an upset.
Look, I've said it before either in this thread or a few others today already - Chags looked utterly crap against Drumond before that bullshit pussified cut stoppage, and I reckon would've lost had it gone the distance. Drumond looked like a bum too, but he made Chags look no better than himself - hence, not a world champion by any stretch.
I've also seen a couple of other fights (mostly all YouTube'd a while ago, no sound except for one) in which he just stood there hunched up and throwing sloppies. The commentator even called him a waste of space. What is it about him that could possibly suggest he's an "excellent" fighter, worthy of having worn the once-coveted WBA strap at any point?
I'll keep saying it - whether I blame Haye for the injury or not, it doesn't change the fact that this match is like a consolation prize at best. Even for Wlad to fight Valuev would've been more entertaining, if only to see that cunting sack of nothing get toppled by a quadruple left hook.
Jeez, rant over... I just hope Wlad stops him, period.
If there is absolutely NOTHING else to do on that night, I'll make an attempt to watch it. After being traumatized by the sheer boredom of Wlad/Ibragimov, its very hard for me to watch Wlad against anyone who isnt gonna go in there and throw bombs. This is why his fight with Haye was so intruiging.
That is sad but so true because the last time I tuned to watch him fight, I too fell asleep. He should change his nick name to Dr. Chloroform http://sergiomora.net/smf/Smileys/classic/067.gif
Anyone wanna bet?
hell no i aint going to bet, that is like placing a bet saying the sun is going to come up tomorrow.
it's like betting on some ones next breath. this fight is going to bore the tits off of anyone who watches it, i think for the safety of humanity, no one watch this fight alone, just to make sure die of boredom.
Well if it's round 9 and all we're seeing is a repeat of Wlad-Ibragimov, I wouldn't blame anyone for nodding off. Especially if it were late. Nothing shameful about that. Wlad just needs to put on a show this time, otherwise he'll get pissed on by boxing fans as usual. It's in his court. He alone holds the ability to make it a good fight (considering we don't get the unpredictability factor of Haye), so it's all up to him as near-undisputed champ to deliver.
I consider myself lucky to have watched the Ibragimov fight after it took place - I knew it was going to be a technical distance match, so I didn't have any preconceptions or high expectations going in. Rather, I found it fascinating to watch purely on the basis of seeing such a vastly different angle to HW boxing (having grown up with the '90s sluggers who made an effort to KO people quickly). It wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible either. At least IMO.

Well, if some dickheaded Haye-nuthugging Brits would get their brainless heads out of their asses, they would probably notice some Wlad's exciiting fights and his grace. But I'm afraid that's a "Mission Impossible" for them...
Wladimir can't be in an exciting fight, unless he's getting KTFO.
I watched the Peter fight earlier, and I hate Peter with a vengence, But Wlad in that fight was truely disgraceful
Chagaev is no Ibrogamov. He'll come to fight.
How so? He didn't do shit against Drumond, and I've seen other fights where he just paws constantly and hunches up.
At least Wlad looks good when he's doing the cautious thing. Chags looks like a sack of nothing.
I'm waiting for Tunney or Klitschko2009 to come in here and inform us all that Wlad/Chagaev has the potential to be a "FOTY" candidate.......
It's hasn't got FOTY potential, but I think it's gonna be a good fight.
