I second this statement, and would like to add that The Golden Boy went life and death with Ike Quartey???? And that makes him a beast, you truly are blind to the hype job Bob Arum throws you. Ike was a good fighter and nothing more, a C level fighter at best. His fight with Quartey is famous because he fought back and didn't give in but it would be the equivalent to Cotto going to war with Mickey Ward. We would question how good Cotto is instead of saying he's a beast. Quartey is only famous for having a cool nickname and damn near destroying the facade Aum built up about Oscar.
Quartey was undefeated at the time and was a feared fighter, and proved himself in that fight, as DLH didnt think he'd be that good IMO. But mickey ward and him in comparison?! cmon! Quartey was a real good amateur too.
DLH shouldve stayed at 140 for a while ...may have been his best weight as he had the speed and power there. But credit for mixing it up and making the welter division exciting at the time..whitaker quartey and trinidad all got match ups , he fought the best.

Quartey = Mickey Ward?
Lord have mercy.
90's oscar was one-handed and didn't have the head-movement to beat Floyd.
Floyd would take away his left-hook and the rest would be downhill for Oscar.

Yah he is a monster that's why he lost to tito and shane in his prime...:owned2:
Prime Tito and Prime Shane are monsters.....
He deserved the decision against Tito definately.
Some feel Ike won that fight...it certainly could have gone either way.
A lot of people thought Ike won. The late Eddie Futch said, "It's decisions like this that make me glad I stepped away."
Some speculate Ike had contracted Malaria in Ghana....the same thing happened to Azumah Nelson.
Oscar would have never fought Ike at his best.
Yeah he was sick with malaria in the summer before the first cancellation by Oscar. Simply put, he was nowhere near his best and still almost pulled it off.
When Ike fought Oscar he had already been stripped for TWICE failing to fight Andrea Pestraev.
He lost something...he started pushing his jab...and he started slapping with his right hand.
Oscar...as usual..faught him at the right time.
Absolutely. Quartey was coming off a 14-month layoff and the worst performance in his career, when he got cracked by Jose Louis Lopez in the later rounds. Perfect timing by Oscar.
I don't think that version beats a prime Floyd. He struggled with an old Pea, struggled a lot with Oba Carr before the KO, wilted against Tito and was forced to run, then lost convincingly to Shane Mosley. What makes you think Floyd couldn't beat him???
I said 2nd fight?? Didn't you see that?? I knew Mosley won the 1st fight.
Floyd get's schooled by prime Oscar. Even Prime Mosley, juiced up or not beats him too.yeah, okay...put down the pipe or pipes in this case...floyd beats both of them decisively, shane is so robotic in the ring and has always been, and has always struggled with master boxers, his stiffness showed this...oscar wouldn't be able to make floyd move up to get a disadvantage over him....skill for skill....floyd is in another leauge compared to both of these guys, hence the reason he called them out his whole career...you just stay quiet boy....
oscar would lose to floyd in his prime at any weight class....skillset tells it all, oscar is nowhere near floyd in terms of skill...he never has been...he made floyd move up to fight him and had every possible advantage in that fight and still lost in what should have been a ud....floyd schools oscar worst then sweet pea did...the best weight they should have fought at was 140 imo...oscar in 1999 ran from tito and lost...he was a great fighter during the late 90s, floyd is a once in a lifetime talent....
i do believe he murders pacman though, badly...
