They are talking about the fight being moved to the weekend of Mexican Independence Day. Why not have the fight in Mexico City? Tickets were moving slowly for the fight in Vegas. Marquez could sell out the place easy. 132,000 people came to see Julio Cesar Chavez in Estadio Azteca. Load the card with upcoming mexicans, JCC Jr could fight a can like always, and this goes from just being a big fight to being a big event.
Anyone agree?
you do realize it sold 132000 because the government payed for a shitload of tickets, and jc chavez was a living god, right???..........
if the tickets are not dirty cheap, it would struggle to sell 20000 tickets.....
The tickets would be cheap. And if JCC Jr, Margarito, Marquez, and possibly Morales' talked about comeback fight are on the card, the place would sell out.
It's not like they would keep the same undercard that was scheduled. I don't expect Zab Judah vs Matthew Hatton to sell a lot of tickets in Mexico (or any other country for that matter).

Here was the fight that holds the all time record. Julio Cesar Chavez VS Greg Haugen in Estadio Azteca. 132,247 attended.
The "Tijuana Taxi Drivers" fight. It's funny watching Haugen get beaten up there.
If Marquez, Morales, and Margarito are all fighting on the same card Mexicans would just pile on top of each other into the stadium.
That just kicks the shit out of a fight in Vegas in front of like 15,000.
I would agree 100%, yet I don't know if these promoters now a days would try to even do that, they have in their mind that Vegas is the best place to make a sellout. In other words they don't think out of the box much..

Hell yeah it should. They could pack just enough people in there to set the attendence record for a fight that Chavez holds. Then Mayweather can wrongfully claim he sold the place out (like he claimed it was him, not Oscar, who sold most of the PPVs for the ppv record) and save face on his "cash cow" image.
