So, this is how I had it on the second viewing - without all of the excited, nervous adrenaline that usually takes over on a first watch. Without completely muting the sound, I tried to block out Lederman's coke-headed ramblings and the commentators' nuthugging. With every round viewed objectively and without bias (even though I was supporting Clottey on the night) this is what I got...
JC || 8 | 10 | 9 | 10 | 10 | 9 | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 | 9 || 115
MC || 10 | 9 | 10 | 9 | 9 | 10 | 9 | 9 | 9 | 9 | 9 | 10 || 112
I can see how some people would score rounds 10 and 11 for Cotto, but I just could not give them to him because he wasn't doing anything effective whilst backpedalling - just punches blocked by Clottey all the way, whilst the latter sneaked in some clean shots spread out over the 6 minutes. He was doing the effective boxing.
Post 'em.

i had rounds 1,4,6,11,12 for cotto and 5,7,8,9 for clottey rounds 2,3 and 10 are really close rounds to me every time i watch the fight i'm not sure who to give round 10 to so i guess i would have that as an even round and everytime i see the fight i alternate on who i think won 2 and 3 either way that adds up to a cotto win
114-113 clottey.
The fight was soo close, but I thought clottey took it. I honestly thought there was a good chance it was gonna be a draw. But i knew if someone won it was gonna be a split-decision.
I haven't rewatched it, but I had Cotto winning the 10th and 11th live. I saw him potshotting well and Clottey making no effort to accomplish anything at all. Clearly Clottey is the better fighter and won the fight in almost every sense that isn't forced like boxing scoring, but he didn't win more rounds on my card. I had it 6-6, 114-113 due to the knockdown.
114-113 Clottey. I wasn't pissed about Cotto winning because it was a close fight and with crowd normally it ends up to be crowd pleasing. Its just bullshit that a judge would see it as lopsided.
OK. Just watched 11 again, and I'll give it to Cotto. He did land more. :thumb1: But it looked close.
Correction for my scorecard - 114-113 for Clottey.
Thanks I appreciate the honesty, that was bothering me a little

cotto - rounds 1,2,3,6,11,12
clottey - 4,5,7,8,9,10
114-113 cotto
Im sorry I just watched round 11, and I have got a 50" plasma (not saying for bragging purposes) cotto definitely won the round, he landed a good left right combo at the start of the round, several good body shots, 2 counter left uppercuts as clottey was coming in, 4-5 jabs, and 2 solid left hooks around the corner, and his work rate was much better, no particulary hard shots but he did touch him quite often and much more then in rounds 9 and 10. Clottey only threw about 30 punches the whole round, and landed only a handful.
The scoring is subjective though and it could have gone either way as the judges proved. There was a lot of close rounds and the chances are if you don't score for body punching then you would have it for clottey. Clottey defends very well to the head and it is hard to catch him if you are leading off, there aren't many gaps to exploit, so you have to try and push him back with the jab and throw combos to the body and to a certain extend that is what cotto did well, I would have liked to have seen him throw a few more jabs to clottey's chest and stomach though
Just download the fight so i would watch it again and post my scorecard later, I scored the fight for cotto when i saw it live but now that everything has calm down a bit i would see if anything was different.
You definitely can if there is no clear cut winner up until that point.
Granted, but I don't think last night's fight had that problem in any round. Corrales-Castillo would be more of a candidate for something like that. Clottey looked fine during the 6 minutes of those rounds. Cotto just didn't faze him.
Damn... I sound like a re'et nuthugger, but I'm not. :p I just don't agree with the scoring, but whatever. A rematch would be essential.

Co-sign. Thats what won him the last few rounds. He threw the more accurate and powerful power shots.
And i gave the last round to Cotto. Clottey's bitching didnt help matters.
I scored it 115-112 Cotto, but could also have scored it 114-113 Cotto, there were some very close rounds.
You don't win rounds by stealing them with a few hooks in the last 8 seconds ffs.

u say he didnt deserve the 10th street bully clottey by compubox numbers only landed 4 more shots and they werent all that cotto landed the 2 harder shots 2 hooks in the last 8 seconds or less it was close i still gave it to clottey and i still had cotto win 114-113 i gave clottey 2-5-7-8-9-10
