Every time Clottey was throwing a punch in the center of the ring, on the Tecate sign, he would slip. This was more prevelant a couple of years ago and seemed like they finally got a handle on how to prevent fighters from slipping maybe using a different method, but not last night. It was ridiculous watching this happen last night. They should spray that shit down with some diet coke before the bout and let it dry so that it can get sticky.
My personal theory, this was done on purpose as Cotto likes to use his footwork from the outside and let Clottey follow him so the the PRs can get a good holiday.
What says you NSB?
i think everything was good but ur last couple lines were idiotic u fail
Was a joke. I was hoping to get more replies than this when I got back. I guess my PR NSB brethren is still a little hung over from last night.
It was really annoying how he kept slipping though. I even saw the ref, who I was very impressed by, push clottey aside during the fight without callint time and start sweeping the tecate sign with his shoes.
It happened in Clottey's corner, so it could have easily been blamed on them for not mopping up the water in their area.
That said, Clottey also slipped a few times in the center of the ring, due to the slick surface of the freshly painted canvas.
I'm with Kellerman on this one ; they really should paint those damn things weeks before the fight to cut down on incidents like that.
