6 Round main event David Rodela 12-1 vs Juan Garcia 14-2
This has to be the worst matchup i ever seen on a network like ESPN or Telefutura. They at least get 10 or 12 round fights with guys we heard of or hot prospects.
Also i applaud Versus for the lack of advertisement of this. Without scavenging deeply through boxing websites you would never know about this
I think its a good thing. It's more about giving some of the up comer prospects some light to shine. And besides it's only the first show, i'm sure as things go along things will get better.
I agree, Wish they bring back Tuesday Night Fights on USA
Versus has committed until the September card to broadcast the fights. Ideally the shows are a success and hopefully a better network can pick them up. I'd like to see boxing back on the USA Network.
Anybody know who is commentating?
according to De La Hoya, Golden Boy and AEG are producing the telecasts, which will be hosted by blow-by-blow man Mario Solis and analysts Bernard Hopkins and Doug Fisher.

hopefully Wilder and some of the other Olympians (Andrade) can be shown on the show from time to time.
it would be a great way to build these guys up, as they already have name recognition from having been US Olympians
and putting them on basic cable would be a great start. (besides Friday Night Fights)
the idea behind it is to show more prospects and more fights rather than have one main clog up the TV viewing
its not a bad list of local (LA) prospects especially Ramos who is going to be a good one
Rodela- one of Manny's main sparring partners going against a former prospect in Juanito Garcia
Huerta- nice amateur career and has been impressive on Solo Boxeo
Ramos- nice prospect under Frankie's management
and Jose Roman- local prospect and may be signed to Cameron Dunkin
all have shown to be pretty good on the local level so who knows maybe you guys are seeing fighters you will hear about down the road
i challenge you to 6 rounds of boxing.
a main event being 6 rounds? LOL

Completely agree, this should help up and commers build a little bit of a fan base. Especially in Southern California, since I think they are focusing on talent from that area and it will always be at the Nokia Theater.
Plus people can watch it on the ring website aswell, that is another good outlet.
It is good to see Versus get back into the fight broadcasting again it has been about 6 months since thay had real boxing on (they did have the contender though).

I totally agree with this.
I would much rather watch women boxing and I mean this, they are very entertaining and they give it all they got and it is sometimes very funny
We need more female boxing matches on tv.
I agree! Some of these female boxers have more cojone's than the men in our sport!
It's boxing, it's free. I'll be watching. Hopefully they get the 08 Olympians on the next show. I also hope they have some sort of "in the studio" deal like FNF. Even when FNF has a shit card I like to tune in to see the recent boxing news.
