Now then, What I have to say about this game is while the game engine is nice and very fluid, but I do have a simple question....why the **** does it feel like Sugar Ray Lenard from FNR3 just hoped over to FNR4 and into PAC and HATTONS body. If you move around while throwing punches You'll know/feel exactly what I mean.
Exactly, I don't understand why people are getting mad just because someone does not like the fact that buttons config. is taken out of this game. Fact is, some people just prefer using buttons like myself, but by no means am I a "button masher" I just feel I can put more realstic combinations together using the button config.
This TPC requires more "skills" is total bullshit it's just your preference doesn't mean other people suck some players just prefer button over TPC. You so called "skilled" users sounds like a bunch of cry baby asses moaning about how you get your ass kicked by button users repeatedly.
The button makes me feel like I have more of a total punch control for the simple fact that I know exactly what button will do what, but TPC on the other hand I will occasionally make mistake. For instance, If I were to double jab then straight right follow by Hook to the body then hook to the head I feel more comfortable with with the buttons. TPC on the other hand isn't as easy especially if you are trying to put specific combos together and I'm all about combos man.
LMFAO someone actually complained about button users being able to put together longer combination together then "run", well ****tard its call boxing and sound like you were getting schooled LOL.
It requires a hell of a lot more skill to use the sticks then the buttons. It's much more satifsying to destroy people for 12 straight rounds with sticks. When you use buttons you fall into predictable rhythms and combinations. With the TPC you can really mix it up and get creative. The buttons are lame. End of story. :D
"When you use buttons you fall into predictable rhythms and combinations."
Then how could you lose? You're contradicting yourself.
I'm pretty sure if you aren't one of those l-hook r-hook l-hook r-hook mashers I could destroy you in one round.
I seriously doubt it.
forget the tcp debacle. it really is fine once u get used to it. my biggest problems at first were being able to land to the head cus my shots always ended up going to the body. so many great counter opportunities ended up hitting my opponent's gut rather than his chin. this was remedied in time, though.
what is up with all the people complaining about button smasher in previous fight night titles anyway? i loved the button smashers, they were the easiest once to beat within the first 3 rounds (not that i used the joystick to do it, i was indeed setup with face buttons).
my biggest gripes as far as the demo is concerned...
ineffectiveness of footspeed/footwork
the fact that the straight right hand is STILL not set up as a power punch
^ 100% Truth.
When I am flicking off combinations it's not always one punch after another after another after another. I'll let off two punches, see where they blocked or how they reacted, pick my next two, lean left and right, get them wondering what is coming next, go back to the jab, hard right hook to the body, take a step back, it's a thing of beauty.
Button users don't do that shit.
They just try to get off the longest combination they can and run away.
Suckers.
I use to hate TCP too in FNR3. What change my mind is that learning it is like learning boxing in real life. Boxers have to go in the gym and work on developing punches and putting effective combos together along. Timing is also something a boxer has to learn. Now you can learn it somewhat with pressing buttons but with pressing buttons, the learning curve is real easy (That's why most people hate that its not in the game). With TCP, you have to go to training and put in WORK to get good at punching, JUST LIKE A BOXER HAS TO IN REAL life. Boxers put a lot of time and effort into being affective and its nice to see game developers recognize that and allow gamers too also. If you put in the work and are a true fan of boxing, you will really like TCP.
Nothing is more satisfying than putting in a lot of work and time on combo's, or mastering certain punches and finally being able to enjoy all your hard work when you play online or against another person.
I don't care anymore anyways, half the boxers in the game don't even look like their counter-parts in real life. I'm done responding to these topics filled with 12 year old assholes. ****ing little kids I could back-hand and you would be knocked out cold.
I don't really care either way. But you take this shit a touch too seriously.

Late in the fight your parry isn't as quick. I usually break people down and KO them late in the fight. If I too am worn out also, if I get parried the left hook right hook left hook right hook can land. My defense is disgusting. My friends refuse to play me because how often I parry and counter. So there isn't anything more I can do.
I use both as well and I am sad to see the buttons go cause as someone said before the TPC isnt exact and too often you end up throwing a punch you didnt mean to throw.
The only button mashers that have ever beat me would always go left hook right hook left hook right hook over and over to the head or body the second they had an opening. When button mashers would play legit and not just constantly do the same annoying bullshit over and over I would dominate them.
What's sad is that you can be beaten by a button masher who constantly throws left hook right hook to the body and head and you come here and complain. That wouldn't be a problem if you defense was better. Ever heard of parrying??
I'm not a button masher but a button user also. Those of you who have actually played against me know that. What exactly is a button masher? Can you really be a button masher when stamina will eventually wear out thus making your punches slower and less effective? I understand how someone can be upset at those who use the cheap little power jabs and crosses aka ali, taylor, and roy because i've gone through that but i've never met a button masher who actually posed a problem for me.
I used Config 4
Config 4 allowed Button thrown punches.. AND TPC... On the offence I would use TPC most often..
However when counter punching (Save for haymaker counter) I prefered the buttons .. as Counters tend to be very specific quick single punches that require the timing of a single press.. Not a swing..
I dont mind TPC.. and can fight with it.. BUT I like my hybrid style.. and I have played 3 versions of the game using it.. And don't feel like spenidng the coin to start all over again..
seriously EA fucked up.. and if they want my money.. they better fix it..
Why are you all crying like little children who can't get there way? Yeah, the guys at EA have no idea at all what they are doing. LMFAO. Who told them they were allowed to make a boxing game?! Shame on them for putting there time and money into the best boxing simulation ever. Stop crying.
Real talk I don't think I'm going to buy this game, it's a disgrace to Round 3. the more and more I play the crappy ass demo and hear about the buttons not coming back the more I feel like just running into the EA studio and forcing them to put the buttons back in at gun point. they've officially ruined the game for me, 3 and half years of waiting all to recieve a fukkin TRASH ass game. FNR4 is compiled garbage by men whom have no business working on this Boxing series. this studio who completed the FNR4 game wasn't the same studio who made FNR3, something happened to that old production studio. long story short it's different designers which leads us to a different game experience and they've single handedly ruined it. the corner game is fukkin ridiculously stupid and the knockdown recovery system is the worst ever man, PS1 Boxing games had it better than this horse shit, they didn't build and improve on a brilliant game in FNR3 they changed it for the worse... I'm VERY upset with FNR4.
Throwing combinations with the sticks isn't that difficult. You can throw your next punch the second you throw your first one. You don't have to wait for the punch to finish being thrown. I will flick my stick out to jab and already have it pulled back and done with my left hook motion, then I'll click down my R2 and already have flicked a right hook motion to the body.
The stick control in Round 3 was far superior to Round 4. I find myself just moving the shit outta the stick to get him to punch. The characters boxers look horrible compared to Round 3. These character models look too arcadey, almost cartoony in a way. Everyone in Round 3 actually looked like the real boxer.
I am extremely let down by this game. I will stick to playing Round 3 until Round 5 comes out.
I don't understand why Pacquiao looks fat in this game, its like his chest is shaped like a refrigerator. Sad, just a sad sad game.
I totally disagree. I prefer the buttons in round 3. I know exactly what punch I am throwing when I hit a button this year with sticks I feel like I am mashing. I dont get the right punch every time. I mean to throw a left hook to head & it goes to body or ends up being a straight to head. There is no random or accident with buttons. I know exactly what combo I am throwing.
I hope its just that I am not used to the sticks & will get more accurate in time.
So for those of you that say button users/button mashers are randomly pressing buttons I think you are way off. If a player mashes they can do it with buttons or flick the stick randomly there is no diference. Either you know what you are doing or you throw random punches & hope to get lucky. It has nothing to do with the configuration. Both stick users & button users can mash.
no u cant mash with the sticks. u have to make a complete motion to get a punch of before u throw the next, if u dont he will just stand there twitching like a crackhead. im not saying every button user presses randomly, but u get the opportunity to mash, which isnt there with the sticks.
and i mean lets get real its just plain easier. it takes little to no skill to get of a combination. with the sticks its a challenge at first, but u learn quickly. and once u get it its way better cuz u have to find a rhytm just like when u are boxing for real. the buttons give a unfair advantage, and i dont want to use em myself cuz its so boring playing without any skillfactor involved. i couldnt be happier that BS was removed.
i never ever throw the wrong punch with the sticks eighter btw.
