I agree...2000 SSM was #2 lb 4 lb I believe. Some even had him above Roy. Shane could have won a UD with activity or possibly a stoppage. The dude didn't tire then, kept throwing and bounced on his feet for 12 rounds.
Anyone who had Shane above Roy clearly did not understand how the p4p rating system works.
Nah, Shane's weakness came against great boxers who used lateral movement, good jab, good timing, and defense. He looks excellent against come forward fighters because that's what he himself prefers to do and is great at. Floyd by a UD.
That very well might be true but cotto vs floyd is a bigger fight, a bigger event, a better draw.
nah. I think mosley is as big a fight, event and draw.
mosley has been on more ppvs than cotto and is more widely known. cotto is also known, but moreso among the ricans, but not all ricans know who he is.
I'd rather see that fight.
I'm happy with either and have no preference, although, mosley should get the first shot considering he stopped margo while margo made cotto quit.
Imagine floyd willing to go to new york for this it would be a crazy atmosphere.
floyd would be pretty dumb to fight this in NY considering this fight probably goes 12 rounds.
You can have floyd vs shane in stapels and I doubt it sells out.
/shrug. has cotto ever sold out MSG? also staples is a lot bigger than MSG right?
Shane to me is just someone looking for one last payday.
yep, same as cotto.
He's not willing to fight anyone but floyd or pac so I say fuk his ass.
that's gay, you want to see someone fuk his ass. gross.
If he don't want to be a champion and defend his belts than he can retire no one will miss him.
well, he's got to cash in on his margo win. that's like paying for a biitches drinks at the bar, but letting someone else take her home.
shane still has the best chance to beat pbf right now.

Yes but you have to remember that styles makes fights and Floyd is ALL wrong for Cotto.
Cotto = Crap stamina, easy to hit, slow foot speed but decent hand speed, questionable chin. Power and size are a plus.
Floyd = EXCELLENT stamina, speed and defense. Decent power and can adapt to any style.
Floyd hasn't been outboxed. He has been pressured before but has victories against fighters who tried to pressure him. Zab had early success but Cotto is not fast enough nor a southpaw to try and replicate the same success.
Good points. Cotto can't outbox Floyd and he isn't active or good enough at cutting off the ring to keep Floyd on the ropes. Mosley has a better chance of winning because Mosley will rough Mayweather up and has the handspeed and explosiveness to blitz him. Cotto's just going to throw by the book methodical punches and hope they land. Punches that aren't even all that fast. Takes more than that to connect on Floyd.
I asked you how you are so sure floyd has great stamina if it's never been tested and you still haven't answered it. You bash cotto's stamina against margarito and ask when floyd has been gassed and I ask you when floyd has been pressured they way cotto was that night and you still haven't answered. Floyd is always in good shape but he's never had a guy walk him down, walk throug his punches and pound him non stop to the body throwing a hundred punches a round. Floyd has never gone through that. So don't compare cotto's stamina that night to floyds stamina. And that wasn't even cotto's stamina that night, it was more him getting pounded and not being to fight anymore. I thought cotto showed GREAT stamina that night. The pressure he endured, the punches he took and threw all show how great his stamina was that night. Fuken margarito was running at times twards cotto. Margarito's stamina shits on floyd's.
He's never gone through it because he stops it from happening. If he fought stupid like Cotto did against Margarito, guys like Chavez and N'dou would have pulled this off, who managed to do it for a couple rounds anyways.
Lol, blah, blah, blah -- Floyd loses to none of the forementioned people. Strength this and speed that. Floyd will, and you know it, have the plan, skill, and effectiveness to give anyone of those fighters a loss. Next thread.
Floyd is also a very good inside fighter, he beats people in the clinch with short hooks and uppercuts and nullifies his opponents best weapon a lot of the time
To beat Floyd you've got to have a good jab, decent defence, stamina and excellent pressure fighter
There is no point trying to outbox Floyd, you'd just get beat, period
I don't see any current smaller fighter beating Floyd, gifting him a natural weight advantage is asking for trouble
Cotto has the best chance of beating Floyd
So one must prove his stamina by throwing tons of unnecessary punches that don't land? Floyd is an accurate puncher, not a volume puncher. Also, the amount of movement he does plays a role on his stamina.
And I don't know why you say I make him look like a robot, didn't I just say that I felt he LOST the first Castillo fight a couple posts back?
You're good, homie.

Does Cotto throw over 100 punches a round, no. Does he still gas? Yes. There. Floyd's stamina is better than Cotto's. Or, Floyd CONSERVES his stamina better than Cotto. Goood laawd, some of you Floyd haters will go to extreme lengths to discredit him.
When has floyd faced the pressure cotto did against margarito? NEVER so shut the fuk up! You're comparing oranges to apple. Floyd was trying avoid the punches and was throwing non-stop something floyd doesn't do.
Answer this simple question, "dweeb". WHEN HAS FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR. EVER GASSED IN A PROFESSIONAL BOXING MATCH?
You're an idiot, its like talking to a brick. Try paying attention for once in your life. Your attempts at making floyd seem like a robot are getting boring.
Cotto faded against both Shane and Margarito. In both fights he boxed alot more than he usually does and he gassed. A Floyd fight will be the biggest fight of his career and I assume he will fight a similar fight like those two. I'm a fan of both fighters I'm just stating facts, whether you like it or not/
BTW, watch the SECOND Floyd-Castillo and shut-up.
No matter how much you think it is your opinions are not facts. I laugh at dweebs trying to pass opinions as facts lmao. And how do you know floyd has great stamina? When have you seen floyd throw 100 punches a round? Floyd conserves his energy it doesn't mean he has invinvible stamina. Floyd is not a robot. He too tires fuk face.

No disrespect dawg, but Shane and Margarito both apply some sort of pressure, whether it's Mosley making Cotto fight for 12 rounds straight,or Margarito just coming forward firing away nonstop, floyd on the other hand just moves sideways and potshots,so without the big punches coming back at him,I dont see Cotto tiring against a floyd potshot fiasco!!

Since when does cotto have crap stamina? You're probably one of those guys that say someone is overrated once they lose a fight. And floyd's toughest fight was a against not a fast fighter but a brawling, slower, pressurer, body punching castillo. You're just either a cotto hater or floyd lover if you think floyd easily beats cotto. Go watch the 1st castillo fight and shut up.
