Because boxing doesn't deserve him.
Wlad vs Haye was going to be the biggest HW fight since Lewis/Tyson, and that's all down to Haye. If Wlad doesn't do the decent thing and wait three weeks to fight Haye, then he is a coward. Chagaev has been injured for two years, and has looked terrible in recent fights. It's a dud match. In reality Wlad never wanted to fight Haye, until he was forced to. He made Haye sign a deal which favours him 90/10, and locks him into several rematches. But being the warrior he is, Haye signed it anyway, eager to get his shot.
Now he is injured it seems as if everybody has turned their backs on him. Most people are saying that Chagaev is the better fight. Bulls**t! The people saying this are the same people who complain that the HW division is s**t and needs a make over. Trust me, Chagaev vs Wlad does nothing for the HW division. Haye is the only boxer that can bring it back from the depths.
In my opinion, Wlad should wait three weeks for Haye to return. Fair enough if Haye gets injured again then he has a pass to fight who ever he wants, but he should give Haye time to recover. 3 weeks for the biggest HW fight of the decade, or fight Chagaev in a borefest? Knowing Wlad he will want to fight the borefest and send the world to sleep with his jab. If he is serious about becoming a great champion for the fans, he will fight the only in shape, powerful, fast, exciting, heavyweight there is. His name is David Haye.
If this fight doesn't happen Haye should retire and leave the HW division to rot in the memories of what could have been. Because boxing doesn't deserve him.
Completely agree again Timba, good post. I mean whats a measley three weeks!?
There was nothing good about that post.
Maybe you take off the Haye goggles and try and be unbiased.
The fight wouldn't have happened in 3 weeks. Haye lied about that. Haye's doctor says he would be able to fight on July 25th at the earliest.

That's 7/8 weeks.
I can always rely on Brits to be biased and not think clearly on these things. :ugh:
HEAVY WEIGHT Boxing does! Thats a fact, even guys like me big boxing fans that come on forums and buy all the big fights dont give a shit about the division anymore, its dead and its very very boring. Haye can change that, fact.
That's opinion. Go back to school, please.
You can always count on the Brits to defend their own without regard for lucid arguments against them or providing solid arguments for their causes. They just rail against the wall until it breaks or it no longer matters. The only worthwhile Brit to box in recent memory was Lennox Lewis and he was originally from Canada dontcha know? Don't cite that idiot hatton either...he was a hasbeen before he could ever have been.
Boxing doesn't need David Haye.
All this talk of him saving the heavyweight division is all rubbish also.

If Haye wanted to have a better bargan at Wlad and a better contract he should fight couple of contenders before doing so.
That is the price he pays for not have enogh experince at the HW level.
If he fight Arealo and another 2 or 3 legit HW contenders then he would have a better contract.
Wlad is still the name at HW to begin with
Uh, yeah...it's on Klitschko to wait. That's bullshit, muppet. I hate muppets, btw. haye should not have challenged Klitschko if he was going to back out last minute with some flimsy excuse about being 'injured' during training camp. Know what's injured? His confidence is injured. He's the one who is scared. Klitschko accepted the fight and wants to pound that piece of garbage haye into oblivion. Don't get your panties bunched in a wad because your little man haye is craven and it's starting to show.
He made Haye sign a deal which favours him 90/10,
This is bullshit. Wlad didn't make Haye sign the contract.
Haye chose to sign the contract. Alot of you seem to be missing that.
Boxing doesn't deserve Haye? Let this clown go fight in MMA. That's more to his taste.
And how would Wlad be a coward for not fighting 3 weeks later?
He has already waited 6 months to fight Haye. That is far too long.
How do we know Haye's "injury" will actually be better in 3 weeks. What if Wlad waits and Haye hasn't recovered if he is indeed injured?
What if Haye pulls the same stunt again?
Think about what Wlad and K2 stand to lose if Haye were to pull out again.
Haye has done NOTHING at HW that has excited fans, especially in the USA. Haye is mostly hype and a coin flip against most of the top-ten HW's right now. Expecting Wlad to wait another month hoping that Haye is better is a joke. Wlad would be over-trained if he did that since he's trained for months to peak on June 20th. If Haye is for real he will be able to fight his way into contention.
I hope Haye fights the winner of Dimitrenko-Chambers. He will probably lose, but if he wins he will earn the right to fight in an eliminator. Which he will probably lose, but if he wins THEN and only then will he deserve a fight with Wlad.
I hope Wlad has patience and doesn't walk away from this fight. But I wouldn't say Haye should retire because boxing doesn't deserve him. Most people are just excited and eager at all the hype for this fight and have got no patience. What's wrong with Haye fighting a top heavyweight or something first if Wlad walks away. He's still got to be tested against a top heavyweight.Just looking at Barretts record, he's never even held a belt at heavyweight
why would anyone want haye to retire???? Everyone knows that the lower weights are keepin boxing alive...its sad because decades ago the heavyweights were exciting fans worldwide..foreman..ali...frazier...tyson...holyfield...the heavyweight division now is a ****ing joke...boring as hell...even if haye is outta his league in most peoples eyes atleast he will bring some excitement..he brings power and speed which can end a fight at any moment...this heavyweight division now is a bore and if u dont think so ur dilusional!!!!!! Haye is good for the sport idiot!!!!!!!
Big FAIL.
Read the first post again.
Boxing doesn't deserve him? Wtf are you taking about. Haye has done absolutely nothing in his career. Boxing sure as hell doesn't need him, and he has done nothing of note for the sport.
See, Street Bully, whilst I disagree with the disposition that 'boxing doesn't deserve him', like you do. I must also take issue with your statement that boxing doesn't need him. All in all, I thought TS's post was good, and well thought out, even though I don't agree with all of it. However, I think boxing needs Haye... but not just Haye, I think that boxing (esp the heavyweight division) needs every able bodied man it can get. We're at such a juncture right now, with our best fighters in their thirties, and the new prospects aren't going to be at the elite level for quite some time. So, from a completely pragmatic, and selfish point of view, I consider Haye indespensible. Regardless of whether or not you're cosy with teh Klitchkos, one must admit taht Haye's certainly put some spice into the divison. Love him, hate him.... doesn't matter to me. What matters is that a competative figher with charisma is finally taking the step up in an attempt to amend the status quo.

Arreola can beat Haye, and vice-verse. That is a 50/50 fight in my book. And its a friend friendly fight since neither have super great defenses and someone is bound to get hit, most likely both of them. And you can talk bad about Arreolas fat body, but you can't deny his workrate and his heart. Arreola has hit canvas and got up to win those fights. I think he only hit canvas once and I believe it was against hard-hitter travis walker.

Wow, when I read the title of your post I was bout to go up in arms thinking it was just another post by some Klitlicker, but what you said is actually on point, and you get green K for that. However, as empassioned as your disposition may be, Haye cannot, and will not retire from his quest. He has been dubbed as 'boxing's last crusader', and rightfully so. Whatever anybody thinks about his perspective future means f*ck all to Haye, I truly believe in the guy and I think that nothing is going to stop him from unifying the HW division. You know what? If Wlad wants to fight Chagaev now, bloody well let him... that just means Haye's one step closer when he KOs the Ukranian. The thing that makes Haye truly admirable is that was he 'deserves' doesn't matter to him. He has a mission, and he's going to go to the ends of the earth to accomplish that. Haye has stated well and clear that someone WILL get KOd when he and Wlad fight (which, if it's cancelled, will be on Wlad's back, not Haye's). He doesn't give a toss, he truly believes that he has a destiny to be the unifier of a horrifically BORING divison. Seriously... what happened to the heavyweights though? The heavyweight championship of the world was once the bastion on masculinity, and now it's a humdrum family affair for a group of eastern europeans (no offence intended to any E. Europeans on NSB, btw). I just believe that Haye is the best thing that's happened to the division for a long long time. Although the divison may not deserve him, he has a greater purpose in mind, and one for which we should thank his persuit.
