I think we're all in agreement that Holyfield has probably gone on too long - but he's still competitive and I admire hugely his desire to win; even if the cynics suggest its all about the dollar.
I fear that if Evander got one more shot at Valuev he'd lose. His real chance was in that first fight when he'd been underestimated and ended up getting robbed on points.
Come on Evander.
Methinks not. Evander's legacy is secure. If anything he's underrated right now but this will change when he retires. Nobody remembers the Joe Louis that came out of retirement when they rate the heavies.
The man Evander will surely get a shot at Valuev now for the WBA belt in September?
Yeah, he can use the belt to keep his nursing home gown closed. I am a huge fan of Evander but I am one who is against athletes participating when they are 763 years old. He has virtually destroyed his great legacy. :la:
i hope holyfield wins, then retiers.
i think he needs money bad,
but i dont know how long he can keep this up.
As long as we're hoping, I hope he wins, beats Wlad and Vitali and retires undisputed...
Isn't Holyfield in Finland? Why doesn't he step in?
He was interviewed by a Finnish newspaper and didn't seem to show any interest in stepping in although he wasn't directly asked. He will be leaving as soon as possible to prepare for his next fight in Ethiopia.
