Yes...he did very well in his last two fights...but HE WAS NOT the attraction...
vs. DLH...it was DLH's star power who generated the PPV numbers....vs. Hatton...it was the Brits who contributed to the PPV numbers...
TOP 10 PPV Fights...
1- DLH / Mayweather = 2.4 mil
2- Holyfield / Tyson (rematch) = 1.99 mil
3- Lewis / Tyson - 1.97 mil
4- Holyfield / Tyson = 1.59 mil
5- Tyson / McNeely = 1.55 mil (1st fight out of jail)
6- DLH / Tito = 1.4 mil
7- Foreman / Holyfield = 1.4 mil
8- Tyson / Bruno = 1.37 (won WBC belt)
9- Pac / DLH = 1.25 mil
10- Tyson / Rudduck = 1.25 mil (how and why?)
Let's take a look at Floyd's last 5 fights......
Floyd / DLH = DLH was main draw....
Floyd / Hatton = 915K (pretty even draw there)
Floyd / Baldomir = 325K (Baldomir was "champ" lol! and Floyd was EXPECTED to beat him down)
Floyd / Zab = 350K (Great matchup and Zab gave him the MOST trouble, but just couldn't keep focused)
Floyd / Gatti = 340K (Again....EXPECTED to beat down Gatti)
and before the Gatti fight....he was and HBO fighter.....if you are expected to beat down another fighter or if you are the heavily favored...why wouldn't people want to pay to see a "clinic"....easy answer...because you ARE NOT AN ATTRACTION....FLoyd fan's...please thank Uncle Oscar for your riches...I guess that explains why he has a 5 Fight Deal with GPB....he needs their name and promotional skills......DISCUSS?
:Thinkingo
PACMAN AND MAYWEATHER needs famous opponent to draw crowds, they can't make it on their own simple as that, they will never be like tyson or dela hoya in terms of crowd drawer, maybe here in manila pacman can draw a lot of fans for free.....:boxing:
If I was watching Boxing for the thrill of who gets paid the most...my table would be upside down from my hard on with being paid $15mil "GUARANTEED"....but since i'm not....i'll keep it in my pants...save it for the wife...and appreciate that the Lightweight Champion of the world...called the the former p4p#1, former undisputed Welterweight Chapmion of the world, beat DLH at Jr. Middleweight and Floyd accepted...on top of dicking Marquez on the split....he could've at least given Marquez a higher guarantee for his troubles...and lower the purse split....but I guess he didn't want Marquez to mistake kindess for weakness....
Youre the one who made a thread about how Floyd isnt and will never be the cash cow.
Im not particulaly interested in your feelings on watching the sport, Im participating in the thread.
So I ask again, who is getting more?
BALL UP! You made the thread, own it.
Guaranteed $15mil.
Who else gets that much?

Agreed....JMM is getting what again...his biggest payday of $5mil for this fight while Floyd is getting what...more than $10mil? Hmmm.....pretty obvious who the "true warrior" is in this fight....no matter the outcome on July 18th....at the end of the day...it will prove that Money CAN"T BUY RESPECT...
Guaranteed $15mil.
Who else gets that much?
haha, yeah man.
i like roger. he reminds me of those guys in the hood who always had a comeback for everything. they are wise and right but b/c they dont say things "politically correct" so-to-speak, people like to look at them like idiots or call them names. people dismiss them.
but hes right and forces people to eat crow.
so funny how that m*thaf*cka goes off the cuff and say sh*t.
like in PACHAtton 247.
talking about he feels hatton should win b/c hes bigger. and if he(hatton) cant beat a guy smaller than him, he needs to give him(Roger) all his boxing gear, so he can throw some gasoline on it and THROW IT IN THE TRASH... bwhahahaha
he didnt even say burn the sh*t. just throw some gas on it and dont waste anytime burning it. just throw that sh*t in the trash. hahahahahahah
Roger is a trip. n*gga cracks me up all the time
I wonder if Ricky did throw his stuff away and pour gas on it......the Mayweather's should have their own Reality TV Show..."Hangin with the Mayweathers" with special appearances by De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Arturo Gatti and Zab Judah.
interesting b.c of floyd and his camp. uncle rog.
watch dLH and hatton was boring. same for Pacman
For dam sure the Mayweather's made the 24/7 interesting.....and again...great Marketing on Floyd's part....good guy vs. bad guy.....
Side Note....Doesn't Uncle Roger remid you of that one barber that never cut hair in "Coming to America"?
"I don't know how old he was, but he got his ass whupped!"
i think you are using "cash cow" with a deeper meaning
if you are takling, May getting alot of views b/c people want to see him win? No.
but he is the CASH COW. b/c he has both people that want to see him win and many more than want to see him lose.
but that doesnt change the fact. People are still watching b/c of Mayweather. whether they want to see him win or lose.
so he is the CASH COW.
but i can tell you. he wont allow himself to be someones "payday." me makes sure to get the better cut of the deal always
People are only paying to see Floyd lose...no ifs ands or buts about it....and it is a BIG SHAME that that is the reason people are paying to watch him fight... as opposed to watching him for his ring generalship and god given talents.....but he Markets himself in such a way that he will take the "Low Risk High Reward" path above all others....not for glory, not for fame, and definately not for the fans.....if he wants to make a pretty penny for the next 5 fights....all more power to him...this IS the land where dreams come true afterall.....but to say that he is the "cash cow".....I guess you could say I am looking at it with a deeper meaning.....maybe in the future...Ring Magazine will get rid of their mythical "Pound 4 Pound King".....and replace it with "Undisputed Cash Cow King".
Hey I made a thread about what you said about Floyds draw being his 0. Check it out.
True or False: Mayweathers Draw Is His 0?

Good to see an open minded fan....and please give credit to Mangler for his statement that I merely agreed with....
the brits are part of the reason why Mayweather vs ricky did so well in american ppvs? wow...
If they watched the fight "here"....british PPV buys are not typically included when finalizing PPV numbers here in the US....unless stated in that article...
example....Hatton / Mayweather did 915K US PPV buys...but over in UK..it did well over 1 mil PPV buys......Mayweather's deal with Hatton was...I believe 60/40 of US PPV buys...and a portion of the UK buys....(UK did 1 mil PPV buys)...Pac's deal with Hatton was 52/48 of ALL PPV buys....in the US that did 850K PPV buys...but over in the UK it supposedly did another 800K+ PPV buys....Manny got the better end of the deal in my opinion....especially since the Euro is worth more than my greenback....
Even if he ain't the cash cow, Mr boat buyer will always draw as long as he's got an opponent fans think can KO him. Or til he gets beat. Once his 0 is gone nobody will care to watch him anymore.
I agree The majority want to see fmj get his ktfo!
Did that fight really do that much? I thought everyone didn't really think Foreman had a chance in hell because of his age.
Hey...George Big Grillz Foreman was 42yrs old in that fight....Evander was in his prime if not still peaking....was for unification of the belts...(back when it mattered) and yes...nobody gave George a shot in hell...but it was two GREAT HEAVYWEIGHTS fighting....Grillz came into the fight weighing 250+lbs...while the "Real Deal" came in just a tad over 200lbs....freaking 50lbs difference?!?!?!?!?! Come one now....who wouldn't pay to see a freakshow of a fight like that....and the smaller man dominated....(hmmm....DLH/ PAC...hahaha).
Yes...he did very well in his last two fights...but HE WAS NOT the attraction...

Floyd may not be "the" cash cow but he is one of the top two depending on who you favor and what numbers you believe. Who right now is a bigger draw than Floyd Mayweather? Manny, who else? Ricky Hatton who probably won't fight anymore. Oscar who hopefully is retire forever.
As I have agreed with MANGLER earlier....
Floyd will ONLY BE A DRAW UNTIL HE GETS HIS 1st LOSS.....that is why people are drawn to him....if and when he gets his 1st Loss....that fighter should be Floyd's "arch-rival" (made another thread about that topic)....and he could really be great IF he chooses to have a rematch or even a trilogy war with that fighter (Cotto). But...if Manny loses again....guaranteed he will still have draw numbers....even if Oscar came back to fight a A level fighter (not an elite fighter cuz he would get KTFO) he would do decent PPV numbers (in the 400K to 500K range). Ricky is only a draw in the UK....and when he fights in the US his PPV numbers rival Zab Judah's....:lol1:
Manny has already many "L's" on his resume....but he is still a draw....DLH has many "L's" but was still a draw.....we will see once Floyd get's his "L" if he will still be a draw...
you're a dummy. it takes TWO fighters to sell a fight. that fight is the richest fight in history. 2 and a half ppl didn't buy that fight just to see oscar. quit hatin.
You're the dummy...the title of the thread is: Floyd will never be the "cash cow"....not De La Fought a shadow....of course it takes TWO people to sell a fight....the FANS bought that fight on the strength that DLH would be the one to give Mayweather his 1st Loss....the Marketing and Promoting of the fight was THEE BEST EVER for a fight....(24/7 debut, US wide: 11 cities promotinoal tour, endless press confrences...etc) BUT...you can't tell me that Floyd was the one who put all that together.....he signed the contract after he saw the guaranteed zeroes going to his bank account. Ask anyone who bought that fight.....#1 reason they bought it....They thought DLH could win against Floyd and give him his 1st "L".
Not "hatin".....facts are facts....great marketing and promotion = record PPV numbers. Plus the economy wasn't in the $hithole it is now....
