Remember, UFC 100 is on July 11th, Floyd vs JMM is on July 18th.
I realize that each sport has it's own fan base, to a certain degree. But many fans are fans of both sports. In today's tough economic times, I don't see fans forking up 50+ dollars for PPVs on back to back weekends.
Which do you think will do better PPV Numbers? UFC 100 or Maywether vs Marquez?
hahahah the p4p #2 isn't an huge name? why don't u guys be honest and say what u really want, see mayweather lose. u don't really care who he fights as long as it's a much bigger guy.
Marquez is not a huge name to any casual fan of boxing. He's been on PPV a grand total of once. He's a lot bigger in mexico than he is in the states.
UFC 100 will destroy Mayweather-Marquez. The Mayweather fight isnt even that big a deal to me. I mean, im glad Mayweather is back but i only really wanna watch Mayweather fight when he is fighting another HUGE name... which Marquez isnt

Not a Big fan of the UFC and in Fact I'm a Big PBF fan
however, UFC does way more
I mean for God sake its UFC 100
its like not its UFC 62 or 78 or 91 It's 100, most likely their biggest event yet, I'll even go to Fox and Hounds or any other sports bar to watch it.
This is one UFC I want to do better than a boxing fight. If this happens, it will be much easier to make Mayweather-Pacquiao.
It should do better anwya. I bet I can name 75% of those who voted Mayweather.
UFC cracks me up, I seen someone with a sig saying its the Machida era. Machida era for what? 1 maybe 2 fights before he gets ktfo.
Ryoto Machida has never lost a single round, you imbecile. Who's going to "KTFO" him? Zeus? To answer your question, it's the era for Machida to reign over the Light Heavyweight division.
Evans was supposed to be the next best thing and he got flattened.
Who said Evans was the next best thing? Maybe a TUF®-era douchebag here and another there, maybe someone like you, but no one seriously knows the sport. Evans didn't even beat Tito Ortiz. The next best thing certainly has no trouble getting through former division champions.
MMA will never have stars like boxing unless its a guy like Lesnar simply because of WWE fans.
Fedor must not be a star. He's a nobody. Chuck Liddell = nobody. Kid Yamamoto is a complete nobody. None of those people are known at all. In fact, if you went to the strip right this instant, you'd find more people that can name current top ten boxing Heavyweights than UFC® fighters. Idiot. You must have shit in the place of a brain in between two big ass ears.

I hate to say it but probably the UFC. Even though it is Mayweathers return, the general public doesnt know who Marquez is so they probably wont buy it. The UFC is all over TV and the general public is all over that bandwagon. I hope that the Mayweather-Marquez fight does exceed it though, as I'm sure everyone else here hopes the same.
Mayweather V Marquez does 750-850k. UFC 100 does a tad under about 700k. UFC cracks me up, I seen someone with a sig saying its the Machida era. U wanna put a 100k on your prediction? No way does Floyd/Marquez do more than UFC 100.
not a very interesting card, imo.
only fight Im really interested in is Henderson vs Bisping, because I like Henderson.
all the rest are just meh.
I hear ya, especially for such a landmark event, UFC 100. They could've done better IMO.
I want to know what is so "stacked" about the UFC® 100 card. It seems to me that TUF®-era fans don't know what stacked is. Or what it means. Or have ever seen a Grand Prix before in their lives. Or realise that UFC® has shitty crapfests like Hughes/Serra as Fight of the Night , when Bellator and DREAM and every other org to include ZUFFA, LLC. -owned WEC® regularly has better fights on their cards. Maybe because Dana and Goldy says it is "stacked", it must be stacked. Or maybe because Brock Lesnar is fighting. I didn't realise that Brock Lesnar is the Messiah and Jesus and Zeus all in one. I didn't realise he was remotely relevant in any imaginable way to the sport.
The card isn't stacked. The event will be a shitfest. :thumbsdow
E
Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir
Georges St-Pierre vs. Thiago Alves
Dan Henderson vs. Michael Bisping
Jon Fitch vs. Paulo Thiago
Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Alan Belcher
...in other words a stacked card.
My prediction:
UFC100 - 1.2 million buys
JMM-FMJ - 525k buysnot a very interesting card, imo.
only fight Im really interested in is Henderson vs Bisping, because I like Henderson.
all the rest are just meh.
If UFC is bringing in more money than boxing, how can u blame them? If u owned a bar, you'll cater to whatever brings in the $$$ as well.
Hey, I get their reasons for it- but it's unfortunate that every single time there's a boxing PPV fans buy their food, stuff their pockets, and support the sport often. This happens every month or two with the schedule of HBO PPV's. The three times a year UFC douches show up in droves, all the loyal, 'I'm here all the time' boxing fans get shoved into a broom closet to watch the fight on a seven inch portable black and white television practically.
What I hate is the local Wing House that plays all the boxing ppv's lets UFC run the show. The few times a UFC fight is on, regardless of how important the boxing PPV is, they show preference to the frat-boy UFC kids with their frosted, **** ed hair, affliction and tap-out shirts, and douche bag disregard for boxing. Really pisses me off.

*Apparently the word: S_PIKE is too close to a curse or racial slur for me to say it. I didn't know that.
UFC will blow Mayweather/Marquez out of the water in terms of ppv buys, and rightfully so. Why? Because they cater to their fans. They give thier fans the fights that make sense, and fights that the fans want to see. There's no ducking, dodging, or cherrypicking in UFC.
