first off manny is a great fighter. second, i'm just trying to make a point because I think that a lot of people believe what they see on t.v.
Ok, so a lot of people on boxingscene apparently believe everything they see...
Manny comes across as a very humble guy who never brags.
how the hell do you know for sure that Manny Pacquiao isn't faking his humility?! How can you be so sure? Do you have any proof? No, you will never have proof. how do you know what he is like behind closed doors? It's easy for anyone to show on t.v. that they are doing charitable stuff. a lot of celebrities do this. A lot of people even fake their religiousness. lol and using God in Boxing is pretty ridiculous... obviously, it is a very brutal sport and it is common sense also for everyone to know that boxing is not a sport God is happy with. But i guess it is a solution to a lot of boxers` financial problems. listen boxing is a very entertaining sport. but it is 2 humans FIGHTING each other, and HURTING each other. So, it is common sense that God does not like it. I mean come on humans were not put on earth to beat each other up! ...
tons of famous people fake their personalities, ESPECIALLY POLITICIANS.
so, please stop saying "oh manny is humble blah blah blah".
He's probably no saint by any stretch but at least when he's out in public he handles himself with class and represents the sport of boxing like very other have done before him. I'll take that any time from any athlete!!!
good point....

So your saying he does this "fake personality" for 2 months at a time, 24 hours a day because 24/7 say hes a great guy and there with him a hell of a lot longer than any of us.

:sucks::stupid::nutkick::bsflag:
I don't know why the hell people are bringing race and nationality into this. When did I say Filipino people are bad?! READ my posts with an open mind you brainwashed idiots.
Well, I have many filipino friends and they are all very hospitable. I've never met an unfriendly filipino. They are generally happy people who like having a good time and always being in a good mood. Almost like the asian version of Puerto Ricans. I went by a friend's family's house when they were having a birthday party. They immediately invited me in and like 95% of the people didn't know me and I didn't know them. They don't care, they figure everyone is the same, and everyone should be treated the same. I see exactly in Manny, the same way these people have treated me and the way most of my filipino friends act.
I don't.
I rarely take the public image of celebrities too seriously.
I laugh when people act like they know how a celebrity really is because of how they appear to be in public.
thank you...
he wants to be the next leader of the phillipines, so of course he has to be the nicest guy possible, whether he really is or not...
Nothing sadder then people so jaded by life that they have to convince themselves that nice and humble people must be putting on an act. That says alot more about you then it does about Manny. The world has plenty of good, humble people in it. I believe Manny is one of them. Another is Hatton, yet he gets the same "I wish he would stop with the nice guy act" from some of you jaded people beaten by life.
Word... :fing02:
Depends what you mean by humble. He does say that he thinks he's personally, especially blessed by god.
I just think he's boring, personally. Mike Tyson set the bar pretty high as far as being interesting goes, but the fact is manny outside the ring is pretty boring.
...and that's all about to it....TS has issues
to FLYBOY, do some research son..he's been a humble, religious, proud fighter since day 1...
i've met the dude, and when i asked him to put morales to sleep, he told me that he would try but el terrible doesnt go to sleep (2005)
That is a cool story.

Don't worry about how Manny is in his personal life...He respects his fans, opponents, boxing, his people, and everyone else....Not to mention he puts on a great performance in the ring...So if he is a dickhead behind close doors then so what, everyone is a dickhead at times..But he has actually shown us that he helps ppl out constantly. So sounds like a good guy to me.
why would he even act like somebody else when all he does is fight? an actor could act, i really don't think a fighter can. if YOU were a boxer, would you act like somebody else? tell me one boxer who ever faked being themselves. c'mon dog, it's common sense. no boxer would.
People "fake" all the time in front of the cameras. PR stuff, putting on a front for the cameras.
Go through "The Muhammad Ali Reader" by Thomas Hauser and Ali is described by most as being shy and quiet when the cameras were away. Sugar Ray Leonard had a good public image while he beat up his wife and snorted coke at home. Sugar Ray Robinson had a public image as a gentleman while at home he used his wife and kids as a punching bag. People always talk about how different George Foreman is once the cameras are off.
Not saying that Pacquiao necessarily is like them, but I can't fully understand why in this day and age people take the "public image" of celebrities so seriously.
wow. first of all, Pacquiao's Pacquiao. second, this topic is fcukin retarded. third, why does it even matter to you?

Uhm, let me guess...
TS was a bully in school.
TS feels so unloved.
TS wants to be like Pacquiao but can't believe he is for real.
TS can't keep his new year's resolutions.
TS is a born loser.
TS forgot to take his medication.
