Showtimes broadcasting SUCKS!!!!

Holy crap i had to mute it after round 5, did anyone else notice this!! I actually like Showtime better than HBO, but I can't stand Larry Merchant and wish Jim Lampley would put the pom poms down more often.

Harold Lederman would've done better by himself there. Though he does get over excited some times with his score cards.

That was Johnson, he was very good. He did what too few of our boxing commentators are able to do: get people excited about what was happening. Charles really, really sucks - he creates no excitement. Farhood is as someone else said very nerdy. They do no good for the popularity of boxing. Nick Charles really blows!LOL It was like he was expecting a different Miranda in there and was totally shocked. Miranda is raw. everyone knows it, except Nick i guess.

Gus Johnson is the man Showtime has to find a way to get him on more, i think hes mostly mma though. Gus Johnson is either disconnected or overly excited (I take it back sometimes he sounds forced also)...... I can not stand him. I think he gets paid extra everytime he says the word "upjab"..... Its the only explanation.

I usually like Farhood & Charles...... tonight though they kept saying the same things over and over again. I think they were trying to overcompensate for the lackluster in ring action.

They should employ Sean O'Grady as commentator. I actually enjoyed his boxing analysis when he was around.

Are you high? No. I think Charles and Farhood are good. Clearly Showtime's production value is lower than HBO's but as far as actual announcing I'd rather listen to announcers who are fans of the sport and knowledgeable than hear Lampley drool over De La Hoya or Merchant "waxing poetic" with some completely irrelevant nonsense.

They're more tolerable than Teddy Atlas.

They need to rep the next big boxing star, as nuthugging as that sounds. If Ward keeps boxing for Showtime, he might not get the recognition and promotion that HBO gives their fighters.

I'm the first one that wants to choke Jim Lampley on HBO telcasts but seeing how bad Showtimes announcers really were.. I'd vote for a Larry Merchant round by round anyday.
