i laugh when people say pac just beat shot fighters. he fought GREAT fighters close to their prime. the only fight where one can say pac's opponent was shot was the third morales fight and the dlh fight. and they weren't even that bad at that time!
he faced the best available. even if people around him says he got no chance.
DLH is a zombie? hardly. barrera was shot? no. you all should appreciate this unique fighter. instead of being blind fans of the likes of floyd, who is about as exciting as watching paint dry.
Pac got beat, by morrales in his prime!, something ATG dont do unless its to other ATG.
The only fighter to beat Hopkins in or around his prime is Roy. ATG beats ATG
The only fighters to ever beat SRL in or around his prime were ATGs.
Ali-Frazier. PRime ATG beats prime ATG
I like EM, but he is not an ATG, but he sure as hell beat Pacs ass.
WAR EM
Pac also beat his ass twice, no excuses. can you tell us who was an ATG back when Manny was boxing Barrera, EM or Marquez. He was moving up to fight the best of the weight classes, but now youre making it sound like he dodged Roy Jones or something.

Holy shit dude you are retarded. Morales is an ATG.

Only the haters are saying they were shot....
Morales and Barrera were younger compared to most haters when they lost to Pacquiao.....
that is how good pacquiao is.....he turns Hofers to shot fighters :crucified
I think even if Manny were to some how box and defeat god some how this forum would find a way to discredit his win. "god overtrained and was weight drained, plus he's shot and past his prime at over 1 trillion years old"
lol They fought eachother on prime time television to get a shot at Paq and Roach ignored it and went for David Diaz...lol a fighter that a shot Erik Morales dropped in the first round. So don't say they were too late, you can say they were just shit out of luck...but don't say they were too late. Their timing was impeccable, they were just shit out of luck.
But this is the Floyd Mayweather Junior state of Boxing...You cherry pick, and you cherry pick with preciseness. That's the way to the top.
Pac can't fight at 130 that time. That's why he picked DD than Sotto/Guzman winner.
Prime Erik Morales does not lose to Zahir Raheem at any weight, that was before the Pacquiao rematch. He was done and dehyrated. Look at the weigh in pics of Morales-Pac 2 and 3. Barrera was pretty close to his prime in the first fight, the second fight not so much. I've never seen someone as good as De La Hoya look so helpless and it didn't have much to do with Pacquiao.
why not give raheem credit for the win? why is it more on morales losing than raheem winning?
& if u look at in in retrospect, manny pacquiao wasnt even on his full potential as a fighter in the 1st barrera fight either... he was a fvckin one-dimensional slugger who had no use for his right hand... he was around 60 to 75% of what he is now during those period...

EM was past it for the 3rd fight, barrera not far behind in the 2nd fight. Besides that, full credit to pac.
Whether you think they were shot or not, you can't deny they fought for a reason. People wanted to see these rematches due to how good the previous ones were. it's that simple. i. How are you going to take shots at a guy for making rematches that fans wanted :s.
Looks like a catch 22 to me.
i see it because both fighters are from a previous era. Barrera was a shot fighter when he met with pacman, barrera was shot after he lost to junior jones twice. Morales was not prime, but close to it, thats the reason he won the first bout. After that it was pacman that took it from him, that and draining to get down in weight.
He became a better fighter after that IMO.

Whether they were shot or not is open to discussion but can never be proved. But Pac still had to do the business and turn up on the night. I saw footage of Pac and barrear the other day and was suprised to see Barrera so fresh faced and young. That is how he was looking in his prime, and not the barrera you saw against Khan.
Pac would have beat them on their best day. He lost against Morales.., not because Morales was younger, but because Pac wasnt as good then as he is now.
You,rE an idiot, I know why they weren't made but I am saying that regardless of anything in the ENTIRE WORLD, they were fought at the wrong time for Pac to claim his opponents were great. I'M GIVING YOU ALL MY POINTS FOR STUPIDITY.
winac...Bro...I'd feel very offended if you gave him the points I gave you...If anything, give them back to me ;)
i re-read it. i know what you posted.
you're complaining that he fought the loser of raheem-morales , barrera-morales 3.
i already explained why it happened that way.
raheem-morales was a tuneup for pac-morales 2. pac-velazquez was the co-main event of that card. the fight was already made. even though morales lost , arum decided to go ahead with the rematch anyway. besides he had to avenge his loss.
why the hell did floyd fight zab after zab lost to baldomir? because the fight was already planned! and zab was more money than baldomir.
the reason he fought morales after morales lost to barrera is because barrera didn't want a rematch. plus they just fought a year earlier.
the reason for all the delays on fighting barrera and marquez was those guys turned down the immediate rematch. barrera had a rematch clause which he refused to use. marquez turned down the rematch. also because later on pac was with top rank and those guys were gbp and top rank and gbp weren't doing business and was suing each other.
those guys only started calling pacquiao out AFTER the trilogy with morales did so well in ppv. because now fighting pacquiao means money.
i know what you wrote and i disagree with everything you wrote.
like i said......if you were following boxing at the time closely you would know why things happened the way they did.
looking up boxrec doesn't tell the whole story.
i'm done with this.
show proof of marquez turning down a rematch with pacquiao, goldenboy and toprank not doin buisness with eachother is not the same as someone turning down a fight
i don't think barrera was shot but it was reported that they had found something in barrera's head i think a tumor and he probably should not have kept boxing and erik had to have looked the worst that i have ever seen a fighter at the weigh in, some fighters may look weight drained but erik looked like he was dying
Pac fought a prime Barrera and Marquez in their first meetings. The second Marquez meeting is debatably a prime meeting. But that's all the elite prime fighters he fought. He should have lost to Marquez twice on my scorecards, and he lost to a post-prime Morales in the first fight. In losing to Morales, Pac consequently transitioned Morales from post-prime to over the hill via the 12th round. Now, an over the hill Barrera and Morales (2nd meetings) were still good fighters, just below the elite level, so it's not like the wins are meaningless. However, his wins over Morales in the third fight, De La Hoya, and Hatton are further below them. De La Hoya and Morales were shot, and Hatton was simply post prime and never that good to begin with.
Manny's resume isn't bad. It just isn't as great as people want to pretend it is.
no way can anyone claim Barrera was shot the first time Pacquiao beat him. After he lost to pacquaio Barrera went on like a 6 fight win streak and he unified two titles.
I think people just made him out to be better than he actually was. In my opinion he was very inconsistant in the ring and the Junior Jones losses proved that he wasn't as good as we thought him to be. Seriously had he never beat hamed we would have never considered him anything more than a B+ fighter who got the better of another B+ fighter.
