Too much work rate. Would totally wear down Froch and stop him in the 10th. Froch's skillset isn't high enough to keep Williams from tagging him and staying in close.
If I were Willy, Id want this fight.
Froch is a bit ponderous - but he finds ways to connect nonetheless. Williams may be outstanding at LM/WW - but that doesn't mean he can take a punch from a huge SMW like Froch.
Taylor isn't a KO specialist, but he packs enough wallop to keep opponents off him. Williams doesn't hit as hard as Taylor. Froch will simply walk through his punches to deliver clubbing straight rights and uppercuts.
It's a total mismatch. What next, Williams to stop Andrade, Bute or Kessler? TBH, I wouldn't back him to beat Abraham.

Well i think you're crazy, Williams doesnt really have any power even though his workrate is exceptional i just dont see him stopping froch, Not saying he cant win due to his high volume of punches but though pit-pat punches isnt stopping a supermiddle-weight mate.
Either Williams is being severly overrated on these forums or Froch is being underrated. We are talking about a natural SMW with huge power and a great chin being KO'd by a former Welterweight (albeit freakishly built) who's heaviest fight has been at 160?
Some of you guys are crazy.
Don't get me wrong, i'd give Williams a good chance of a UD against Froch, but in my opnion he would get KO'd by the bigger man. Williams looks like he could fill out at Heavyweight and still be rake thin, but until he proves he can hang with 168's, don't assume he would knock out one of the champs there.
It is a combination of both.

typo. now answer the rest of that post, truth hurts :boxing:
All you speak are opinions, there is no truth in your posts.
Here are some facts tho.
Jermain Taylor has a better resume than Williams
Williams faced an inactive aged Winky Wright
Xplosivo is a moron
Here's one of his dumbass threads:
"Juan Carlos Gomez will beat Vitali Klitschko"

I actually agree with you Wlad and this will hopefully be the only time that happens.
considering:
hopkins 1 - lost
hopkins 2 - lost
winky - lost
ouma - close decision against a welterweight
spinks - close disputed decision against another welterweight
pavlik - lost/ktfo
pavlik - lost by decision
froch - lost by 15 seconds
now you tell me?
I like how you call Spinks a close disputed decision but both Hopkins fights and the Winky bouts loses. You really are a hater. Jermain as of now has a better resume than Winky, this should be obvious to you. Claiming Taylor lost fights to boost Winky's resume is a bit pointless.
Ok what has Taylor done at SMW besides losing to jeff "LOL" lacy? who loses to everyone these days and is completely finished as a fighter, just watch his last 5 fights all are disputable and close.
do you think taylor would beat williams with the workrate and stamina he has? give me a break u must be british for hyping up froch that much. i mean if the stamina struggled taylor went 15 more seconds we wouldnt be talking about froch right now.
Taylor lost that fight?..... He must be shit!
hell watchin williams winning every round against winky even after the layoff was more impressive than what taylor has done in his entire career n m not being disrespectful these are harsh words but true at the same time.
Jermain didn't lose twice to Hopkins, don't be foolish. The first bout was close and could of went either way but Taylor clearly won the second. He dethroned Hopkins with only twenty two fights under his belt. The man has a stacked resume and you think Paul's one win over an aged, inactive Winky trumps Taylor's whole career? A bit crazy.......
dude wht has taylor done? every true boxing fan knows he lost to hopkins twice and then winky, then he got close decisions over former welterweights, then he got ktfo by pavlik and then lost to him again in the rematch.

What has Taylor done? The question is what has Williams done at SMW?
Margarito is NOT a big puncher, he's a volume puncher with average power.
Williams has NEVER faced a big puncher
ask Cotto about Marg's power, you hate the US man, come clean and admit that...you will feel better.

Oh I guess Marg didnt tell us anything.
HAHAHAHA
Save it bud.
Margarito is less skilled than Hatton with or without the plaster. That should tell you everything right there.
You're Crazy
Williams is overrated and his win over Winky is overrated. Winky is old, washed up feather fisted and had a 2 year layoff.
Williams gets hit a lot and has a skinny neck, he will get KTFO when he steps up and faces someone who can punch.
Froch by brutal KO
hmmm......

True.
What I find unbelievable, is that Paul Williams, a guy who hasn't fought at SMW yet, is being made a convincing favourite over a big, strong, SMW, who is coming off a victory over a world class Jermain Taylor. Apparantly, Williams already has a better chin at SMW than Taylor, can take Froch's best shots, and has the power to KO Froch, without even fighting at SMW.
I would like to see him against Pascal, or Bika, as a measure of where he is at.
Paul Williams deserves credit for a dominant win over Winky but people forget about the long lay off and his age. Taylor received similar praise and what people failed to realize is that Wink doesn't punch hard and shouldn't be a measure for success against rugged punchers like Froch. Williams hasn't even had one fight above Middleweight and yet people think he can take the best shots from a natural SMW. It is a bit foolish IMO.
99.9% of the disrespect comes from die hard Joe fans. They get offended by the tone Froch takes with Calzaghe.

Does he have such strong punch resistance against a strong 168 lber? Doubtful.
Give Williams a chance to prove his chin at 160 against someone other than Winky Wright before you compare his punch resistance to Taylor's.
Don't mind all this unfair hate towards Taylor. The man was only 14 seconds away from victory. I just hope he doesn't retire.
