Joe peaked late, in his early thirties, during which he had awesome stamina, good chin but terrible accuracy and middling power. He may have been good earlier too but he never showed it by way of fighting a string of regional level fighters for 10 years (excepting robin reid)' Jones peaked in his twenties, having adamantine reflexes and speed, and great combos but a middling chin that hadn't been exposed yet. Whilst Joe struggled with regionals, Roy made world legends look bad with his level of ability. Luckily as well as being a late bloomer, Joe was also the younger man so instead of fighting roy all he had to do was wait for his reflexes to fade, and then take on the much diminished version. Tbh the gulf in these peaks is tremendous. Roy would destroy Calzaghe. If truth be told, Joe would be too ****scared to ever get in the ring with prime jones, he admitted it as much, he pretty much knew he could never cope with someone genuinely fast, and Jones was more than fast, he would dance in and out of Calzaghe all night long, perhaps not stopping him but wrecking his face all the same. sorry, has to reply to that one!
