This isnt so much a shot at Ricky Hatton, just a point i want to make.
The 2nd under the guidance of Freddy Roach, but 1st with Freddy in his actual corner he done everything Roach told him to do.....keeping his hands the most important thing.
Ricky couldnt do that, his a veteran i know and his had 45 fights or whatever in a certain style, but he just couldnt listen to Mayweather, regardless whether Mayweather showed up late, he should have listened to the man who knows, got the fight out the way then sort the personal business.
As a veteran, HE SHOULD KNOW to listen, he didnt, he lost. Dont blame Mayweather, blame Hattons ignorance and stupidity for the loss
Im actually more a Hatton fan then Khan lool.
(I know im kinda late with this but just wanted to get it out there as i dont like Khan at all)
Without a doubt, I bet he was laughing so hard the hole in his chest started leaking.
Or the other eye fell out....
Nah on a real i reckon Warren is waiting on Hatton to be SHOT! which isnt far off then there gonna try and set Khan on him
He'll hype it like its this biggest british clash since Benn/Eubank etc the glory days and all that bollocks
Khan shoudnt be rushed, give him 2 years under Roach then see what hes got, the problem with british media is they like to give alot of praise and then prey for a persons downfall.
I like roach, i doubted him before the fight but he really is a class coach who loves his fighters and loves boxing, best trainer in the world atm? i think so.
i would have liked to have seen ricky go to roach after graham but i wasn't saying that at the time so meh.
The kid has talent and in no way deserves the hate that's been poured down on him. I mean, people in here are supposed to be boxing FANS. What can't be appreciated about some of the skills Khan possesses?
So what if he got KTFO by Prescott? There isn't a fighter in that weight division that wouldn't have hit the canvas with some of those shots.
Khan's problem is less to do with his chin than some of the management choices his team have made. To put an inexperienced fighter who at the time had no defence whatsoever in against a murderous puncher like Prescott was criminal. What kind of trainer does that to his own fighter?
If Roach gets his defence sorted I think he's got a bright future indeed. If he gets KOd again - so be it. Far too much is made of keeping an '0' on your record these days. Christ - he even put up and challenged Prescott to a re-match! Considering the beatdown he received in that fight it took balls to say that.
Leave the kid alone. And to those Hattonites who booed Khan in the press conference - they showed themselves up as the prejudiced ****s that they are.
One thing about Khan is he is eager to learn. In all honesty I realised it's not him I dislike, it his entourage and promoters.
He isn't actually a bad person and does his fair share for the community.
Im not a big Khan fan but im gonna wait and see maybe he can earn my respects.
Cool man. Khan has so much talent. There will be a day when he gets viciously ko'd again, but in the mean time people need to give the guy a chance. He has a difficult fight in Kotelnik next, and if he comes through it as the victor, I'm hoping for him to fight Ortiz, Campbell, or Katsidis. Hopefully he has no more easy fights.
Listen he has the possibilities of being a Good fighter with Roach in his corner but until then he is just another fighter trying to make a living. He got the win over Barerra Bull shit style. He needs a rematch with Barerra!!!!
Oh i agree, i didnt like hwo that shit went down at all, should have been ended by the 3rd round. Like i said im not a fan of Khan's but the guy went through what....3 trainers in like 18months? but he could still listen to Roach and put what Roach said in his game...keeping his hands up most importantly, he could listen.
