He fought Barerra and won based on something should have not been and all the sudden he is Great. I didn't see the fight but I am wondering had the head butt not happen would he have still won?
Nobody is hyping Khan you idiot.
Yes they are. Khan has been hyped from, and indeed from before, his pro debut.. his career was being stage-managed while he was still an amateur. Where the OP, who is obviously unaware of the history, went wrong was in thinking it had anything to do with the Barrera fight. Khan has been hyped because Frank Warren who, whatever you make think of him in other respects, is actually pretty good at what he does, saw an opportunity for both Khan and him to make money from it. So far they have... you think Roach works for peanuts?
The question is not whether Khan has been hyped, but whether there is anything behind the hype. IMHO there is, Khan is blindingly fast, bangs hard, and is not short on skills (you don't win an Olympic medal at LW without being skilfull).. the faults he has, mostly linked to over-confidence, Roach will beat out of him. What Prescott 'exposed', as far as he exposed anything, is firstly that over-confidence and secondly that Khan's chin is not the best. It is, in fact, no worse than that, despite repeated comments about a 'glass chin'. Will Khan reach the p4p heights? I very much doubt it, but he may well pick up a few titles. Will he get KTFO again at some stage? Almost certainly, as many other good fighters before him have.. that doesn't make him a 'bum', or necessarily 'over-rated', and it doesn't mean he won't KTFO the same opponent in any rematch.
Above all Khan is an exciting fighter. There aren't really that many of those, and they deserve better than what a lot of generally uniformed people have been throwing at Khan.
Khan is a good prospect with a big future ahead of him - people hyped him up far too much early on, now people are dismissing him far too much after the Prescott K.O. He looked very sharp against Barrera and did what he had to do... if anything I think the cut was a bad thing for Khan as it's tarnished his victory, I believe he would have been too quick and too big for Barrera anyway. I look forward to seeing what Roach can get out of him, he's got a great chance to get his first world title against Kotelnik.
It's interesting to see what Roach does with him . He predicted DelaHoya Pacquiao wouldn't go more than 9 and it finished in 8 , plus he just predicted Pacquiao Hatton won't go more than 3 rounds and it finished in 2 . I think he'll probably have what it takes to turn Khan good as well.
Khan is a good prospect with extremely quick hands and a little bit of power. His chin is average but not as much of a problem as some would make out.Roach will straighten out his flaws and he will be a world champion.A lot of irrational hating going on which I cant really fathom.
i think the in and out flurries roach has pac do at the higher weight classes would be very , very effective with amir.
i can see him being successful with it.

he's an olympic silver medalist with fast hands and good skills.
of course he's gonna be hyped up. it's natural.

I just love posts like this that claim completely false stories just to get attention.
Just love Tossers that get jealous over a simple thread that was not meant to cause controversy. I only asked a simple quest Douche Bag its idiots like you who can't think of anything intelligent to say that makes comments like yours to get Attention. :bryce:

I think before the Prescott knockout there was a bit of hype, which is expected if you work for Frank Warren and undefeated, but after that, even with his win against Barrera, there hasn't been any hype lately. No one in the British media, let alone international, has been talking about him.
question
is did he let his own hype get to hsi head and not prepare well enough, and with this schooling in boxing that he received is that a slippery slope for his career now or would he reinvent himself and become a better fighter
Aamir
Ex World Light Weight Champion.
He has lost the world belts earlier this year; but before his loss there were talks of Amir Khan fighting him.
This possibly may well happen at some stage; however if Amir Khan doesn't imrpove his defense than they will keep him away from Diaz as he is likely to get another battering from the 'Baby Bull'.
The kid has extremely fast hands, he's accurate, he puts together excellent combinations and he has all the shots.
Yes, his chin isn't the best - but I'm not sure any fighter in the division could have stood up to some of the punches Prescott hit him with. That kid can really bang.
I hate all this Khan-bashing by British fans. He's a good boxer, a nice kid and he certainly doesn't deserve the venom that's currently being spat at him.
Juan Diaz would have stood up, Casamayor would have stood up, JMM would have stood up and countered him on way to a KO, Katsidis would have been wobbled, but stayed up, Valero would have stayed up. Hell even Toledo stayed up.
Who the **** is hyping Khan you moron?
All I ever hear from Brits about Khan is negative stuff about how hes shit etc.
NEVER have I seen a BIG Amir Khan following about his skills? I think Im in the minority when I say he has legit skills to go far...he just doesnt have the chin.
And Khan would have destroyed Barrera regardless. Too fast, too strong, too young, too big.
Only Moron here is you just asked a question!!!!!
